There are several cranks with no effect, one with it catching then dying, then another with it catching and running a few moments before sputtering out. One of a series of heavily processed sounds of me ripping various objects off a sticky surface. I ran the original recordings through s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, combining and mulching everything into new, dynamic sounds with lots of movement and texture.

Three quick samples of the gear one mk1000 on kick (+ a single audio technica at2020 overhead on the rest of the kit). Each quick loop / snippet is 1) presented in mono / processed with compression and some eq (mostly a 6dbish scoop at around 300hz on the mk1000 and 80hz rolloff on the 2020 with about 5db less on the mk1000 than the 2020), then 2) presented exactly as recorded / no processing at all save normalization, mk1000 panned hard left channel, at2020 panned hard right. The first two samples are the mk1000 in the resonant head cutout, the third is the mk1000 positioned about 4" from the head and just about 2" from dead center of the drum.

As usual. . A triple osc was used. I played with the different possibilities. . . Sine, triangle, saw, square waves were used here. It may cause damage on high volume (maybe?). Effects: phaser, reverb. After recording, the entire soundshape was inverted.
