I layered three different snare drum takes to achieve this one. All three of those takes are from a ludwig black beauty. I did a close, stereo overhead, and stereo room mic configuration. Originally recorded/used for an 80s cover song i've been working on. Sounded nice in the mix so i thought i'd throw it on here. -yellowtree.

Today, i was wake up in 6:45 am in morning. My mom going texas children hospital to flu shot for covid-19. My mom bought me blueberry muffin,my sister chocolate muffin and my mom bread. My mom going home depot and kroger. My mom buys cheese, lettuce, tomato and chips for nachos. I ate nachos. I was full. At 2:45 pm, i hear rain and loud thunderstorms. I recorded on my phone.

I took a few one-shot samples from a bunch of free packs i downloaded off the net (legally), i gave the kick some subtle crunchy distortion in the high end whilst trying to retain it's core sound and it's punch, i altered the transients and the pitch of the samples to make them pop more and sound more to the point and i placed a coloring compressor on the master to give it a bit more overal volume raise without causing it to clip in a bad way.

An early morning recording made at 7:30am on sunday april 2nd, 2017 in a large field bordered by heavy woods. . . . Beyond the woods is a large lake and, with headphones on, you might be able to hear the sound of boats on the lake. It was sunny, but, a typical cold early spring day. Temp was 43 degrees with a slight breeze making it feel like 37. But, that did not stop the birds from putting on a chorus. This is a full acoustic drumkit sampled at multiple velocities with drum sticks and brushes, it was recorded in a small jazz bar at a local music school, i recorded this a long time ago with a zoom h1 portable recorder. It would still need some sorting and tweaking to build a soundfont or hydrogen drumkit which i want to do in the future but it will probably not be anytime soon.

I went for a more realistic gun sound without the hollywood subbass and a lot cleaner than my previous work. Made in ableton live, i just layered an ak47, an m16, an enfield rifle and an acoustic kick drum together with eq and used parallel compression to gel them together. Transient designers were used on the layers to make them snap harder. A bolt slide forward sample and a bolt slide back sample were added to give some mechanical feels to the gunshot. Enjoy.

Over 6 hours of night ambient shot in the countryside near a house close to the main road. Rain hitting the vines, thunders, village sounds, crickets, occasional cars passing on the road, far thunders with no rain, dogs barking, roosters, all in one unedited take. This was recorded with the mobile phone (allview e2 living) with the "voice recorder" app at maximum quality settings so do expect a lower quality. You are free to use this sound as you wish.

Ambient echo sound. This sound required the combination of operator using the triangle wave and plenty of reverb. I layered this sound by using two different octaves to cover most frequency ranges that sounded best and to fill any gaps in the sound effect. This sound is inspired by scene transitions and wide shots where there may be a lack of other sounds so this frees up a space for a calm ambient sound that uses plenty of sustain and reverb. The triangle wave in the operator gave it more of a high pitched calm flowing sound. The other options for example sine wave sounds to harsh and sharp for this type of sound.

Recorded with the mic on the rear bumper of a 1974 mgb sportscar. Start, drive off, up through gears, steady state, and shut-off. Very throaty period correct exhaust note appropriate for british sports cars from the 30's through 80's. Recorded outside of car so would work best for driving follow shots, drive by's, or car entering/leaving a scene. Think of a fighter pilot driving up in his mg car to the airfield in battle of britain; yeah, that kind of scene!.

Dont ask why this is named like that lol, made using a lot of layers but the fundamental of the snare is synthesized, distorted the first miliseconds of the sample to make an snappy transient and make it cut throught the mix. For the process i used analog modelled plugins such as exciters, tube saturators, preamps, coloring eqs, and compressors alongside with some digital modelled plugins such as camelcrusher, transient shaper and sliceeq both by kilohearts, the compressor mjucjr ny klanghelm to amplify the waveform of the sample and finally a clipshifter plugin, which i love it, to limit the snare aggresively.

An old project (2017, 4 years ago) i never uploaded anywhere before. I hope that others will take inspiration from this. This is practically a sequel to "muffled warfare" that i never released, and have titled it so. Inspired by this war of mine. A collection of sounds muffled and mixed together to create a warfare soundscape heard from within a church. A lone individual sifts through the scraps of war, and checks the worldwide news from his radio. The war marches on around them, however, and he must move on.

Not a very good recording, and very short - but this is the flapping of a juvenile bald eagle's wings and its cry. I'm only uploading this because i don't think there are any other samples on freesound. I didn't manage to get a good shot at this one, so that's all there is. But i'll try for a better sample as soon as i can. This is a real bald eagle - not a red-tailed hawk, which is what most eagle samples really are. This was recorded as part of a tracking shot for a project i did a few years ago. It starts off from the exterior of a fancy london pub around the primrose hill area, walking in to a fairly packed establishment. It tracks movement into different parts of the pub. There's fairly prominent music for the first half but it eases off to barely audible later on in the audio. A few minutes in, you'll hear the bartender announce the price (6. 95) a couple of times. This is a single guitar string plucked with a pick directly at the headstock, that means between the tuners and the nut. There the string is very short and tight, resulting in a high, almost piano-like tone. Also, since there is no sound box, the tone is rather quiet. I used this for a sampler and i liked the sound of it. This is the raw recording. If you want to use it in a sampler too, i recommend adding some eq, reverb and maybe some delay. It is not perfectly in tune though, the closest note is a#. You might tweak the tuning a little bit when using it in combination with other tuned instruments. The boom is the genuine sound of a beretta 92fs being filmed on a cell phone with the slow motion feature. However i decided to add the "click-clack" of my switch blade knife as added effect. Some sounds of blowing across the top of a glass bottle. Specifically a 33cl cider bottle. :-). Captured using a rode nt5 small-diaphragm condenser microphone and a zoom h5 recorder. Basic editing in ocenaudio, also applied some slight de-reverberation. I intend to record a proper version later on, including different articulations at various pitches. But that may take a while. A gunshot sound effect recorded for a high school production of the musical heathers. It was recorded on a zoom h1 and was made by a theatrical cap gun. I recorded it at a distance of about 5 feet and then again at a distance of about 40 feet from the audience and allowed the sound to reverberate both times. Then i duplicated both and mixed in both original sounds on top of each other, plus each sound pitched down 1 octave and the 40-feet away recording at 2 octaves down, plus the closer recording pitched one octave up. We then added and adjusted reverb in audacity and adjusted the sync of all the clips to be aligned, and adjusted the mix to make it sound as real as possible.

Made this in bitwig, i used 17 different layers to make this. A kick drum is added before the gunshot to add punch. Sub bass is synthesized for the deep lowend, 30-50hz. All layers were selected for certain frequencies using eq and then processed together with multiband compression. Shell sounds, mechanical noises were added for more depth. Using automation, the pitch, decay, and phase of every single layer used other than the subbass, morph to give life to the sound loop, and not sound robotic. Even though it "might" sound real, its an illusion of sounds being played from a midi clip. Enjoy.
