Who has ever experienced complete inner peace and tranquility knows the feeling of peace that remains for days in your system. Of course there are always those impressions around you that distract you from that. But by regularly absorbing that silence, that tranquility, this peace grows. Eventually the feeling of peace is ruling and there is only just an occasional little storm. That keeps you alert, so that is good as well. So, peace at last.

This caught my attention as an unfamiliar sound, and i actually had to investigate to learn what it was. It was the raindrops hitting some styrofoam bodyboards near a swimming pool, which at times sounded almost more like a hollow "pop" than a "drip. ". In the background one can hear thunder, rain, and the humming of a pool filtration system. Recorded with an iphone 7.

Location: charlotte douglas international airporttime: april 2015. A strong storm hit charlotte, north carolina, and flights got delayed or canceled. The gates got crowded and people were restless. Lots of airline announcements, people talking on their cell phones, airport electric cart beeps, voices in english and a few words here and there in spanish, etc. Don't remember if this was recorded using the zoom h1 or h5 with the xyh-5 x/y microphone capsule.

Recorded from my apartment, second floor. This starts with a few bolts of lightning during the end of a typical early summer afternoon and ends up on a pretty huge thunderstorm including hail. I wish i could have recorded more but the storm was getting so important, i had to close my window.

I recorded this using my small sony cybershot camera. You'll notice that the wind goes from loud to soft to loud again, repeating. This because i am opening the window wide and then after a few seconds i close the window but not completely so that i get some low whistling sounds from the wind. I recorded for 18 minutes and i used audacity to edit it. Hope this sound is useful for you!.

I was recording wind that blows in my window, but the zoom h2 placed on a (cheap) mic stand after some time started to bend itself downwards. It hit the curtain/drape in my window and rubbed itself against it until reached the lowest position - the mic stands arm stopped gently as it started. This produced a very interesting sound that i totally didn't expect to find on the recording. Edited with audacity.

Today, i was wake up in 6:45 am in morning. My mom going texas children hospital to flu shot for covid-19. My mom bought me blueberry muffin,my sister chocolate muffin and my mom bread. My mom going home depot and kroger. My mom buys cheese, lettuce, tomato and chips for nachos. I ate nachos. I was full. At 2:45 pm, i hear rain and loud thunderstorms. I recorded on my phone.

This was recorded during a harsh storm here i stockholm. Harsh winds blowing thru a small forest. Details such as leaves rustling and hard stormy winds are key components in this recording. It sounds like a storm is approaching what do you think?. I honestly don't remember what i did in post. . . I think i removed alot of bass/rumble, added an expander to remove some unwanted noise to help the winds and leaves to stand out. I probably used rx to clean up some unwanted noises. Equipment:zoom h5 + sony ecm 6080s condenser mic. This was a test to see how the stereo configuration on the ecm 6080s sounded like. I really like it but i would prefer an ab configuration with 2 dpa 2011 or even 2 4060. . . I like the sound it was able to capture even if it may be a little to "centered". I probably will try to use it for my future hiking trips to capture rivers and general ambiances, if i get something special i will upload them here. Hope you like it.

I tried out some new gear and methods! more mountainside rain! a complete storm from beginning to end with swelling and then waning rainfall, occasional thunder. Ms stereo bar on mic stand projected through open second-floor window, just under the roof eaves. Recorded july 20th during one of the mid-afternoon brief intense storms we can seem to get frequently in the rocky mountain foothills beginning around june. If you were listening and wondering, the direct sound of the thunder is somewhat occluded as i believe the storm was behind the overhanging roof and house from the perspective of the microphone array. The mountainous terrain and other objects in the field reflected some of that thunderclap, as well as the exterior wall of the home, and so this is all a little bit funky. This is a sound i created by using three different things. I recorded my bathroom fan and altered the pitch, added a few cents and overlayed them at 50%, and added a band-pass filter. I also recorded batteries rolling across the bottom of a drawer, lowered the pitch a bit, and added a high pass filter. And then lastly i added some wind that i created by blowing into my hands. That i did not adjust at all. It sounds just like a thunderstorm.

The past two nights were very stressful and restless due to this crazy hurricane which has come to the balkans and has been terrorizing all the nearby cities. It was my turn to walk the dog and i was really up for it. As i walked a distance, i could see rain coming from miles away. I could also see that i wouldn't be able to make it home before it got to me, so the dog and i took shelter in a baseball dugout at a local park. I tried and tried and tried to find a genuine audio recording of a sandstorm, but all i could find were synthetic mixes. What genuine audio i did find always had some other noise or voice polluting the audio. So, i found a couple of great wind audio recordings, some wind rustling a dry corn field, and some low earth rumbling and combined all of that to create the closet approximation i could to the authentic sandstorm audio i was able to find but couldn't use. I hope others find this audio useful in any of your projects. Feel free to use with no worries.

Rode nt4 -> maudio delta1010lt, capturing a lightning strike that made the walls of my house shake, and forced me to turn off my computer. The lightning occured ~167 meters away from the microphone, calculated from the time lapse between the initial dc spike and the start of audible strike. Clipped quite a bit, had the input slightly too high, but did not expect one to hit so close. A picture hanging on my wall shook violently when this one hit. It was raining one night so i used a sony px720 digital voice recorder to catch some hopefully cool atmospheric type sounds. I placed the recorder next to my apartment window and stepped away for a few minutes. My window is situated right next to a rain-gutter so you hear the rain hitting the pavement along with the rain flowing down the gutter. You also hear four different cars drive by during the recording. Well that's about it hopefully these sounds are of some use to people.

Five minutes of rain, artificially created. Same mix as my other "five minutes of rain" upload, but without the reverb in case you want to add your own. Process:. Using a blue yeti usb condenser mic on the cardioid pattern, i made a 30-minute recording of sounds from my sink (drips, splashes, different faucet pressures) and cut them up into 60 files, later edited down to 20. These were layered together and mixed with white, pink, and brownian noise. Slight noise removal applied. Recorded basic mic noise, and used a subtractive processor (reafir in reaper) to remove that sound from the final mix. .

I captured this sound on my canon powershot a460 digital camera. It was a horrible night, with strong winds and heavy rain. I went to my garden shed and positioned my camera at the small window inside my shed as there is a small hole in the right hand corner of the window, and through this small hole the wind blows through it making this whistle sound, almost like a flute. Zoom h1n recording from this morning's rainstorm in metro detroit. The original recording was from 5:02am to 7:26am, but due to a lot of secondary rain drops splashes hitting the recorder directly when the wind would shift i edited it down to 52 minutes after taking most of the knocks outs when i edited in movavi. Pretty steady rain for most of the track as you hear the hum from the morning commuters in their cars increase in the distant background. You'll hear some birds too throughout the track, mostly starlings i believe.

I'm back with another binaural. I am attempting to capture the sounds that remind me of the places i have visited. This is a recording of fuertaventura, in the canary islands, inland in the desert, morning with the wind blowing the sand, desert mountains all around just like the wild west. I upgraded my binaural mics to roland cs-10em from my homemade ones. I'm happy if you can notice the difference. I like that they are combined mics and earphones with little windbooms. Files are recorded in:24-bit 96khz. Wav. They are as big and as high quality as i can make. Please comment :).

My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there. Incidentally i often use this type of thing in my long-form instrumental music, produced under the name conelrad. Ambient recording of the courtyard in my apartment complex. The are two story brick buildings, next to a main road, border-line highway. The traffic light means that the birds and neighbor's dog start predominant, then are taken over by the rush of traffic as the light changes to green. A sunny day, but clouds are in the distance, as an impending storm is about to roll in. The whining dog seems to share his sentiment about the dark clouds. Recorded with a zoom h6, stereo xy adapter set to 120 degree spread. Set up through a wide open window as to cut down on wind noise.
