We were having a small rainstorm, so i thought i'd go out and record the rain. As you can see, (or hear!), i got much more than that! this is the complete original audio, all unedited. It sounds as if the lightning struck at least three times! enjoy! (i know i do!).

My first upload to freesound is a thunderstorm recorded in gateshead, uk, next to our open bathroom window. Some lovely thunderclaps and rain. Recorded on a zoom h5. There are also some household sounds swimming around in the background, doors closing, dishes clinking etc; i think you can hear the radio or something very faintly towards the end -- but there's plenty of clean usable thunder and rain in there. Moderate rain on a metal roof (some variation) with drops into puddles and rolling thunder. Water on roof recorded from the outside rather than the inside (ie no echo or reverb).

Recorded in my backyard with rode ntg-3 / dead wombat on zoom h6 recorder. Starts off with one decent short clap of thunder, but mostly rolling low rumble thunder and some rain here and there. Some of the rain drop sounds are sharp off of metal, some is just lightly hitting the ground. Some nearby trees blowing add to some of the ambiance.

The constant, almost non-stop rull of thunder lends an erie quality to this midnight storm in madison, nj. Got popped on the nose with a couple little stones, but it was worth it.
