This is a recording i made of the ambience at our local diner one man band-- it's a staple of our local culture and still maintains a, "50s diner" kind of atmosphere-- something you can feel in the air when you visit the place-- i hoped to capture that dynamic with this recording-- the sound of utah-- something lost in time and yet so progressional. I was recording wind that blows in my window, but the zoom h2 placed on a (cheap) mic stand after some time started to bend itself downwards. It hit the curtain/drape in my window and rubbed itself against it until reached the lowest position - the mic stands arm stopped gently as it started. This produced a very interesting sound that i totally didn't expect to find on the recording. Edited with audacity.

I was at a human trafficking conference and to thank the people the first nations people of the area sang this song for a long time brushing the participants with cedar boughs and smudging. I caught about half of the singing and drumming. It was done in a large lunch room with about 100 people attending in the late afternoon. I recorded the sound with my lumix fz200. Location was in surrey british columbia.

The insects take over, and on top of that, a single, solitary bird, i think a flycatcher, softly calls his one-note. Even though this is the time of year that the visitors, those beautiful neo-tropical migrants, fill the woods, after several months of raising of raising a family, they are quiet, resting now. . . Letting the insects signify the passage of time and the slow march to autumn. In about 6 weeks from now, most of our visitors will have left. . . Back down south, their job of raising the next crop of insect-eaters done. . . And the woods, the forest, the nearly-dry creekbed will be packing it in. Just playing with the alesis vortex keytar i got at a garage sale for practically nuttin'. The guitar synth is revitar. And i ran it through amplitude. Timings a off and it sound fake. Okay if the sound you're going for is a drunk robot, i got you covered. Actually, i think a keytar and a good guitar synth would actually be pretty sweet. Best garage sale find ever. Better than that time i got all those pedals.

This is a background sound i've created designed to imitate the noise produced by a vast collection of typewriters being worked on in a large warehouse environment. All the noises within in have been taken from freesound. There are 8 different typewriters here. On some channels i stuck a lo pass and some big room reverb, and on others i added a little compression to bring them to the forefront. The whole had a hard limiter to -6 on the top.
