I was out on the marsh edge when i could hear a strange noise in the dark. It turned out to be ice breaking up in the tidal flow. A great test for the new pair of em172 mics. In the parabolic, olympus ls-5 recorder.

Big reverb and heavy distortion. Very indy/alt rock type of riff. Some extra effects at the end of each chord. Probably good idea to break it up into smaller sections as the end goes a little crazy with some not so over the top playing and noise.

Here are some single shots from a drum track i recorded. I actually used these for a great hiphop sounding drum track by putting them in my sampler and shortening up the decay. Recorded with a zoom ps-04, transfered to computer digitally.

This was created by accident while trying to make engine noises. I can't remember the base sample but it's lost in the mix underneath reverb and other effects that create something that sounds to me like the interior of a helicopter. I hope that's useful to someone.

This is my first upload: a short walk between the stalls of the vismarkt in groningen, netherlands. Is was a splendid and sunny saturday morning, about 9. 30 am, may 7th 2016. In the first part of the recording, a garbage truck is already cleaning up. Fish crates are being piled up and money is exchanging hands. As the name of the market square suggests, the stalls are filled with fresh north sea and wadden sea fish. But i also passed stalls where cheese, meat and spices were sold. Business was thriving at the time of the recording. The groningen vismarkt is broadly recognized as one of the finest food markets in the country. I used an iphone with a zoom iq5. As said, this is my first recording, so please bear with me. . . I intend to learn.

We needed some drum cadences for julius caesar and i was unable to find any i really liked so we grabbed our orchestra drummer here at the theater and we came up with 13 different cadences for us including jfk's funeral march. Most are done on snare and then again on a single tom, easily looped for duration. They have no verb on them so you can add as you desire for your space. The whole precedure: switch-on-klick. Heats up. Hisses with a few nice whistling melodies (from 00:27 on). Boils. Automatic switch off. Close stereo recording (10cm) with sony pcm-10. Pretty low background noise (kitchen ambience).

My mogalyn consists of a torn-up book cover, a gnarled root i found on the ground, and a pinwheel called a "moga. " the moga spins, and picks rhythmically strum the strings according to their placement and the rotation of the mo. This version was created with paper and glue - which fell apart, so a more robust version is coming soon.
