This is a set of drum set interpretations of the baião pattern. Kit used was a 16" kick, dampened, but not stuffed to sound more like a surdo, a 14" ludwig snare, one riveted ride cymbal and hi hats. Simply recorded with a single sm57 but they are clear sounding loops. I'd be interested in hearing anything you use them in :).

This is a tone that i generated using my electric fender strat through one of my vintage amplifiers in my studio. Works well as a sample for composing soundscapes with it - i've used these tones in maschine and other sequencing/midi based instruments to create some interesting orchestral arrangements with the tones.

First half is dry in that no extra effects apart from eq are used; second part of the loop is actually two copies of the same loop with one of them containing extreme compression after some unison (detuning) and ~30ms delay. This is a recording of a slow freight train passing from about 50 feet away using the internal mics of a tascam dr-40. The recording was made in southern mississippi, usa. The train was going down a gentle slop, around a bend. The engines can be heard approaching and passing, followed by the various sounds made by the wheels as the individual cars pass. The file was edited using adobe audition 6. The processing used was a high pass filter around 30 hz and a multi-band compressor. A couple of times during the recording clipping of the pre-amps can be heard because i was manually riding the input gain.

A synthetic bass multisample. I created it using the virsyn cube additive synthesizer (vsti). I applied some eq using the sonalksis sv-517 equalizer plugin. The sound was compressed by the sonalksis sv-315 and nomad factory blue tubes cp2s compressor plugins. All great quality plugs. The sound is a nice but rather static emulation of a bass guitar. Use your sampler's velocity and pitch bending options to bring this multisample to life. All samples in a 24 bit, 44. 1 khz resolution. Loop points were added for sustained notes.

It annoyed me i couldn't find this atmosphere anywhere here, so i decided to build this for you: remember the classic "thunder rolls then a wolf howls" sound bed used on so many kids' shows back in the 1970's? well, here you go! this is uses the classic thunderclap by a freesound user whose name i can't remember but will ad when i do remember, some more classic moaning wind by me, a retro wolf howl performed by yours truly with added reverb on top. One of a series of heavily processed recordings i made using a hikari monos cv. It's a small, highly tweakable synthesizer that's great for drones, resonant pings, and all manner of dynamic electronic sounds. Using s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, i focused on generating short, punchy impulses that leaned into the resonant character of the original monos recordings. These sounds might be useful for ui buttons, as well as designing modern-retro sounds for games.
