It's a recording of a medium-sized dog's yelping. The dog also repeatedly sneezes from 1:15 on. The dog was longing for it's master, i did not do any harm to it otherwise than mercifully recording funny (in my opinion) sounds it made instead of saying words of support. I don't feel guilty. Recorded with a hand-held zoom h2 in 48khz/24-bit wav, edited, normalized and converted to flac using audacity.

This is an extremely clean recording of a sudden cloudburst that turned in to a torrential downpour on december 28, 2020. The peaks are all very close to 0db. I opened the sliding glass door to our balcony and placed my zoom h4n as close as possible to the rain without destroying the recorder. What resulted is an amazingly layered rain track. This is because rain can be heard striking multiple surfaces such as a tree, a metal table, the cement balcony, etc. . . There is not much thunder (that's rare in this area) but if you need a few dramatic thunder claps they can be found at the following times one the file is downloaded. Well, i wanted to do add a sound to my recording of a chicken in a barn. I put the mic (zoom h2 - 4ch-around) outside on the ground and threw some corn around it, so that the chickens will walk around it and hopefully make some noise. The chickens are very chilled, so there are just clucking smoothly and you can hear them walking around. Further there some flies flying close to the mic, some birds and stuff. . . :-).

Bell tower of the basilica of the national shrine of the immaculate conception. Recorded on the catholic university of america campus with a zoom h2 in four channel surround mode. The front mikes faced the basilica. The rear mikes were fairly close to a building and captured an off axis recording of the original peals while the reflection off the building was on axis and is louder than the original peal. The two files can be combined for a surround image.

This is a september 24th 2013 field-recording, which i took in heidelberg's old citycenter in the late afternoon, while working at the heidelberg laureate forum 2013. You will hear a general streetnoise with motorbikes/cars passing by, people talking and laughing and finally a beautiful streetmusician's flute and singing by one of his collegues. Here's my first field recording and first upload on here. I recorded my friend's fireplace in his apartment for a theater production through my college for which i was the sound designer and sound board operator. I used a zoom q3hd with its built-in stereo xy microphones at about a foot or so away from the fire (on the bricks directly encasing the fireplace) with some make-shift baffling around the fireplace (safe, i know).
