Some spooky sci-sounds from editing someone speaking. I edited using audacity and recorded using a rode video-mic pro.

A 70bpm beat/loop sequenced using renoise 3. 0. Samples were either created from scratch or modified after being recorded in my basement using the sampler built into renoise. The microphone used for recorded samples (of a keychain) is the one that comes along with the m-audio microtrack 24/96. Sounds good in reverse too.

Theme hand saw :. Production step :i reccord the sound of someone speaking. I copy this sound 4 times. One time on two i « invert » the sound for creating a contrast. So four speaking are on the « original sens » and four on the contrary. On a another track, i take another short recording of a men voice and copy this once. I add this new track to the middle of the first once. To finish i chang the pitch of all the track with a percent of change of -24. Description :this sound look like an old wood hand saw. We clearly distinguish the saw movement. Going on and going back. Add a different recoording on the middle allows the sound to be realistic. Because the hand saw sound is not regular. Improvisation with magnets clashing being re-sampled with granular synthesis.

This was originally a friend's cat meowing but it has been processed heavily. First, it was put through a granulizer and the pitch was dropped -2 octaves. The sample was then panned l-r using automation, and bitcrushed. Lastly, to get a slight detuned feel, i added a chorus effect. This sample sounds even better with some convolution or hall reverb but i left this effect out since it's usually a effect users want total control over. The end result is a strange, alien sounding noise.

Playing with jeskola buzz.

The loop was created with one of reaktor 5's instruments which was modified to create 4-second loops that sounds something like techno or general electronica. The drums are all created using a subtractive synthesizer, most of them sine waves and were modified several times.
