A violin bow scraped back and forth on various parts of the neck of my acoustic bass with a little bit of reverb and compression applied, several samples to choose from, and a bit at the end that sounds kind of like a big monster snarling. Recorded with a blue yeti blackout.

A few lines from a one string phono fiddle. It is a very rare old instrument seldom found today. It is a single metal string, played with a horsehair bow. The sound is picked up through a phonogram diapraghm and then amplified through a brass horn. This is free for anyone to use as they wish.

Two stroke diesel engine on a narrow boat on the river weaver cheshire - running at normal cruising speed. Audio track separated from a video. Camera was just in front of cabin - filming for most of the time towards the bow. The sound was captured when the camera was turned to film the two boaters at the helm.

The chimes of big ben first appeared on bbc radio at the very end of 1923 to announce the new year. In december 1948 this recording (catalogue number 825677) marked the 25th anniversary of big ben’s broadcasting career. Bought a piece of 12"x24"x22awg copper sheet metal last week and was fascinated by the warble noises it made when i picked it up out of the box. Recording: easy voice recorder (android) on a samsung s7. Post-processing: 2-pass noise removal with audacity due to fluorescent light hum and other background noise.

I recorded a viola for a theatre project. I recorded it in a dry room, close mic with a neumann tlm103. Some samples are just noises of the bow on the c or d string, then once in a while creating overtones, other samples contain some processing with echoboy by soundtoys. Amazing plugins they make!. This is before i tuned it, bowed across the strings you're expected to pluck and strumprocessed with dmg channel comp, voxengo elephant, internal daw eq, and valhalla room. Multiple loop sections overlayed/crossfaded relooped, then overlayed, crossfaded and relooped again.

The "concrete cello" pack is a collection of scraping, scratchy and droning improvisations on the cello focussing on the creation of sounds to be used as base materials for future compositions. They were originally recorded in 2019 to be used in as sound design elements for the documentary "hotel regina" by director matthias berger for which i composed the music. I have an antique cherry cabinet that is at least three times my age. The door has a slight twist to it, and it keeps opening itself. The door catches of yesteryear had a metal prong that pushed two rollers apart. This catch pre-dates that, it's all about springy metal that bows out of the way. And this is the sound it makes when you close it.

This is a recording of applause at the end of the concert in a large auditorium. The conductor and performers walk off and on stage for multiple bows throughout. This is recorded with a small field recorder from a seat in the audience. The file politely clips in parts as people near me clapped, but it's not noticeable. The cough in the beginning is easily cut out, the file loops really well, so you can just delete that section, and it will sound continuous.
