A series of nondescript samples recorded in a fashion inspired by error. They are made so that even if they are arranged in a rhymthmicaly correct order, they still sound horrible. The samples come from unearthed past tracks.

Tell me pretty maiden from Leslie Stuart and Owen Hall's Florodora (1899 in London; 1900 on Broadway). Sung by the "Edison Sextette" (Ada Jones, George S. Lenox, Corinne Morgan, Grace Nelson, Bob Roberts and Frank C. Stanley) for Edison Records. It Edison Gold Moulded Record #8260. Florodora was the first big hit musical of the 20th century. "Tell me pretty maiden" was the runaway hit. "Tell me pretty maiden" is a double sextet, sung by six girls, matched in looks, all 5'4" inches tall and 130lbs, and their six suitors. This recording cuts their number in half, since, although it is difficult to get six people in front of a recording horn, it is even more difficult to get twelve.[1] This recording consists of only the first verse. A vocal score is available at The International Music Score Library Project.

Plane- it’s difficult to get good recordings of planes taking off these days. There’s always major streets or highways close by which results in a bunch of unwanted traffic noise. It’s difficult to find a good vantage point to set up because there’s hardly any public parking with unobstructed sight lines (or in my case hearing lines) to the planes. Plus, with all the extra security measures in place these days, how suspicious would i look setting up a laptop andsome cables and some other electronic equipment in the general area of the runway?but i managed to get this recording. It’s not spectacular, but it’s ok. There’s some worker truck at the end of it which gets in the way, but doesn’t ruin it. Murchunga (nepali: मुर्चुङ्गा) is one of the ancient musical instrument as jaw harp. This collection is a sample sound from one-particular instrument that comes pre-tuned to a scale when crafted. And the device being too tiny to produce the sound signal, it was difficult to record the full length and frequencies. There could be other better sounds from a professional recorder. It just gives an idea of how it hears.

This song is about a buddhist who returns to the monastery, where he was abbot centuries before (in a previous life). While walking along the path with torches, the memories come to the surface. First, it is difficult to see it without understanding it. After a while he can let it come to him, without exercising control. As a result, he learns the life lessons that he was not yet ready for. Through the light at the end of the path he experiences what enlightenment is:"dare to expose everything without judgment and learn from it to become more loving instead of always needing control".

However, i remember that i had this soda in front of me, and it strangely enough made me appreciate life and everything 1000x more. This recording was made in the afternoon during a rainshower under my carport in louisiana. The rain is striking three different surfaces in this track: cement, roofing and plantlife. Now, i'm no pro, nor is my equipment (olympus ws-310m w/ built in mic), so discerning these different sounds is difficult. You can hear the dripping from rain: fast drip in the background of this track. However slight, there is also a noticeable electronic note which is simultaneous with the water striking these surfaces. You can also hear slight rustling sounds that could be wind or my shirt moving near the mic (i was wearing the device on a lanyard). The file is wav, recorded in stereo at 16 bit at 44. 1mhz.

(wikipedia) the european nightjar (caprimulgus europaeus), common goatsucker, eurasian nightjar or just nightjar, is a crepuscular and nocturnal bird in the nightjar family that breeds across most of europe and temperate asia. The latin generic name refers to the old myth that the nocturnal nightjar suckled goats, causing them to cease to give milk. The six subspecies differ clinally, the birds becoming smaller and paler towards the east of the range. All populations are migratory, wintering in sub-saharan africa. Their densely patterned grey and brown plumage makes individuals difficult to see in the daytime when they rest on the ground or perch motionless along a branch, although the male shows white patches in the wings and tail as he flies at night.

A loop-able ambiance of being submerged in water for your underwater needs. This one was particularly difficult to process as i had to layer many scuba diving sounds in one order to get this effect. My iphone died, but not completely. The screen was cracked, the battery was failing and it was difficult to make contact in the worn charging socket to charge it. It reset itself frequently and never stayed on in any temperature below 65 degrees f. So i downloaded my data and activated a new phone, but lo and behold, i couldn't turn off the old one. I would have to wait for the battery to run down. For once, the battery lasted. Two days later i listened to the alarm go off for ten minutes. My arms were full of laundry, and suddenly my backup alarm started blaring, loaded with an obnoxious ringtone. My back porch is concrete. My 16-ounce claw hammer was handy.

Autumn forest wind. Heavy, fast gusty in tall pine trees. Some birds and raindrops. Soundscapes of natural white noise of moderate intensity. Some are stagnant or static and with few birds. The presents of the colourful red and yellow dry leaves that is still on the trees, creates the noise of the wind with rustling whispers. Is a constantly form of natural white noise that is always changing and evolving. These recordings is from my third attempt. I think it is very difficult to record the “spirit” and unique sound of the wind. This is pure natural wind sounds (no layering, no post-processing, no synthesizers). Originally recorded at 24 bit sony dat tcd-d7 on a sony ecm-909 microphone. Recorded in sweden september of 2007 in a wet cold beautiful colourful forest, with all kind of trees, far away from any traffic or human sounds.

Created for an upcoming film, this is the audio from a nightmare a character in the film has about the terrible 1966 aberfan, wales disaster. He sees himself in a hallway at pantglas school then hears the coal tip land slide coming, then sees it crash through a distant wall and come rushing at him. I put it together from the following freesound samples:. 94114__tim-kahn__rumble126323__klankbeeld__horror-zombie-hell-atmos147239__matiasezcurra__mud-and-rocks-river-iruya-northwest-argentina168777__robinhood76__03792-children-screaming198095__cell31-sound-productions__earthquake-interior-metalrattling-2244501__hutsvoid__nervous-children249907__klankbeeld__horror-kids-01338721__rogerboyx69__inside-a-tornado379906__kevint1001__water-flood-enhanced402016__ylearkisto__ikkunoita-rikotaan-kepilla-breaking-windows-with-stick415608__rtb45__mud-volcano-field-salton-sea456806__breviceps__hot-bubbling-mud514381__zatar__earthquake3343130__inspectorj__ticking-clock-aand145801__mrbriandesign__kids-screaming-2. This was a very difficult piece of sound design to construct because of my emotions about the disaster and how the national coal board responded: 500 pounds sterling maximum to each grieving parent for each dead child, and with questions such as, "how close were you to your child?" if the answer was somehow not close enough for the panel, no money was awarded. The film scene will be handled with taste and respect, and no dead children will be depicted.

I made this sound in september 2003 - i used a fairlight mfx 3 - a direct descendant of the first sampler ever made - and the best ever to this day editing software for ground breaking features and functions. Clip based eq and level which you could cross fade between made the use of automation almost redundant in precise to picture editing. It also had a unique alternative jog function. You could loop 1 frame or so as you chose of sound at the orginal pitch which made it easy to find transient points. I then 'grind' the play head over a solo'd sound and play this into a reverb unit. I have many of these accidental experiments and one day i shall make the fairlight pack!. Until then enjoy this alien - from mars with love :). Ps - you can do this experiment today! i found that i can use sound flower as an out put in audio finder. If you open a sample in the sample editor - you can recreate the fairlight jpg by grabbing the playback head in play. You may then route sound flower thru an input channel and get some unusual effects that are difficult to achieve. . If you can improve on this method let me know!.

This sound is a superposition of two records. First, i recorded a coffee machine and cut it to extract just the sound of the money that falls in. Then, i recorded the sound of keys and mix it together on audacity. I wanted to make a sound that can be repeated in a loop. So, i copied the record of the coffee machine to give a rhythm to the sound. I tried to cut the sound of the key perfectly to make a loop with the help of the option “search for crosses with zero”. Then, i added view effects. I have changed the amplification in purpose to bring out more the sound of the coffee machine. I also change the reverberation. Gradually, my sound made me think of a music in a video game that i used to play, rayman. It was difficult to describe what the sound was like, but i liked the atmosphere, so i kept it. Then, a friend told me it made him think of a frog noise, and i liked the idea.

This is the audible annunciation found at all intersections with traffic lights in paris, france. It announces the condition of the traffic lights for pedestrians who are blind or with impaired vision. The annunciation is turned on by pressing a button on the traffic light pole. When the crosswalk sign is red (do not cross), the recorded annunciation is always "rouge piéton" ("red light, pedestrian"), followed by the name of the street that the crosswalk crosses (in this case "rue d'antin," the quiet side street where i recorded this). This repeats over and over until the crosswalk changes to green, at which point there is a two-second trill tone followed by a repeating bell tone. The bell tone is one bell, followed by two bells, repeated four times, followed by a very brief pause, and then the sequence is repeated again. This continues until the crosswalk changes back to red, at which point the "rouge piéton" message resumes. The annunciation continues for at least one cycle of the traffic lights and then stops, unless the button is pressed again. The audio quality of the annunciation is very poor even in real life (it sounds like a wax cylinder recording or something), and can be difficult to understand. This recording accurately captures the poor quality of the annunciation. The volume of the annunciation is also adjusted dynamically based on ambient noise, so there is a slight change in volume on this recording as the system apparently reacts to noise from traffic or something. There is a weak background noise that sounds like some sort of machine, but it wasn't coming from the traffic light and i don't know the source. The recording starts with the crosswalk red, then at about 18. 3 seconds it changes to green, then it changes back to red at about 53 seconds. A car passes at around 48 seconds. Recorded with a zoom h4n, stereo 96 khz / 24 bits, built-in mics, from about ten inches below the tiny speaker in the crosswalk sign housing.
