Windy suburban night. Recorded from a upstairs bedroom window with a h4n. Wind chime. Cars passing by in the distance. Metallic bang from garden ornament. A tiny bit of wind artifact which the rycote wind jammer didn't catch. Crickets singing happily. Very big gush of wind can be heard near the end of the sound file.

Three ceramic objects - a bowl, a bottle and a jug - clanking against each other, being handled and put down; at the end the bowl is scraped slightly and hit with a metalic object. Water is being poured in and out of assorted ceramic and glass bowls, jugs or bottles. I left a bit of the container's own noise in, such as cork bottles plopping or the filled container being slid over a wooden table, for all your bartenders needs :p a lovely chuckling bottle is somewhere by the end.

In an antique store in laconner, washington i saw a old black desk rotary dial telephone. I dialed the numbers 1 through 0 and recorded them on my cell phone. It's a fairly clear recording and different from the other rotary dial sounds here. I rolled off the low end a bit to get rid of some ambient noise in the store.

Okay, this one has a strange story behind it. I don't remember why i was recording, but it was my voice (probably a narration,) and when i listened to it, this sound showed up at the very end. I was the only one home, and i don't remember a sound outside prior to pressing the stop button, but it was there. Weird, random, and unexpected, but neat all the same!.

My vcr rewinding a vhs tape. Sounds pretty gnarly at the end. Recorded with a jm27 into my zoom h4n. As a side note, this sound was a real pain to record. Every time i set up the mic, it seemed like the ac would come on, the dog would bark, or some other sound would ruin the recording. Whatever, i got it done.

I recorded the end of a rain storm with water running off of the house and multitudes and species of frogs in the background. I used my phone to record a mono track and then used audacity to simulate spatial stereo. It made the traffic in the distance sound like spirits moaning. I thought it was pretty cool. (-;.

Coffee shop in tokyo. Lots of background noise and conversation. Staff is cleaning. Espresso drinks are being made. This recording was made with a stereo pair of mics placed at a coincidental 120 degree angle. I rolled off the low end at 28hz to remove the sound of coffee cups being set on the counter where the mics were placed.

Recorded using an iphone 3g voice recorder sitting in the center of the plaza at la cruz de huanacaxtle in nayarit mexico. Tropical birds in a tree to the left, a person to the right fiddles with their bag, then near the end a single small car drives around the block. About 1 minute in duration.

This is a recording of several professional gas-heated clothing dryers running in a laundromat. It was recorded from about three feet away near the left end of the dryers operating, near the front-loading doors of the dryers. Heavy, cyclic, mechanical rumbling sound. Recorded with a h4n and built-in mics, stereo, 96 khz / 24 bits. April, 2012.

Two-pole circuit breaker recorded held in my hand, also pressed against a wooden board for more resonance. And some rattling mechanical handling noises at the end. Field recording of diamond lake a few hours before a storm hit that forced all boats to dock. This is in late may of 2022. On a hike at the north end of the lake, i stood at the edge of the water and held my recorder close to the growing waves.

Background distant traffic noise and helicopter appears about halfway through the recording then some people's voices near the end. I've amplified this recording by around 8db, no other processing applied.

People leaving work and driving home! i was recording on a busy street in a smaller town in germany. I recorded with a bran new zoom h6 and the ms microphone. The file is in 96/24 and nothing was changed beside cutting the beginning and parts of the end with adobe audition.

An experimental sound i did while messing with audacity. Just like i did in that end sound, i just used my table to do the sound, but instead of pounding, i tapped it (man, my table is kinda useful for sfx. Xd). And after that, i added the vocoder, some reverb, and the echo effect then viola! this effect was born!.

I used one of those blank plastic cds that you sometimes get when you buy cd holders. I broke it up into many pieces and dropped them multiple times adding on the ending to make it sound like the leftover pieces bounce. Sorry about the backround noises, recorded on a laptop with the fan running and a tv in the backround. Came out pretty good though. I was satisfied in the end though.

Munich natives seldom use that name, calling the square instead stachus. Towards the end of the recording a tram tries to force its way, using his bell for a looong time. My wife bought me this cool remote control helicopter for my birthday, so i recorded it flying around the room.
