*short, synthesized evolving looping ambient teaser sequence with deep reverb on distant kickdrum. Fades in and fades out. A hint of a dreamy, chilling out atmosphere. An aural echo of days of gentle hippiedom. An accidental discovery as a result of feeding ni massive through flstudio's effector vst. An x-y controller is attached to effector with asychronous ramping of the x and y gains via two control tracks. Strangely produces phantom instrument sounds, almost like guitar and organ. Created in flstudio 11 with ni massive, flstudio effector, reverb, compression and eq. The note track is made by me for no good reason - i just thought it sounded pretty. *there is, now, a longer version on my harddrive.

Helicopter taking off from ground level, beside a brick building. The rotors spin increasingly faster, the engine revs, and the bird takes off into the distance, quickly fading. A very pure recording with the exception of one voice early on.

The rumbling roar of an approaching freight train then the whistle and passing cars. Some good screeching from the metal. The train passes and fades. Recorded pretty close but with trees in between.

Slightly shocking short white noise fade in (2 secs) with a little reverb at end. Generated from scratch using audacity (mac version) 16-bit aif version. A simple, atmospheric sudden ending or transition.

Long clip of helicopter flying in, landing, and taking off again. I left a lot before and after so you can fade it in and out as much as you want. Used izotope rx5 to remove loud bird sounds during the main portion of the helicopter sound.

Infinitely evolving drone made with ableton and a combination of freeware synths. Sounds a bit like throat singing. Pitch changes are synced to 20bpm. No audio processing has been done other than cross fading.

The inspiration for this track came from a stereo cross-fading delay patch for modular synths i found, created using caustic 3. 2 with my akai mpk mini keyboard as usb-midi controller with a bit of a tangerine dream style.

Warm white noise-ish machinery hum normalized to -2db. Slightly less than 12 seconds, with short fade in and out. No rights reserved. All wrongs reversed. Boost no ills.

The sample are mixed and processed. The fade-in/stopping done by filters & the noises, the full sample done by glitching, granulize & adding more sounds: doorclosing, drive starting, -stopping & dooropening/drive ending.

A simple square wave, done with chirp generator in audacity. Starts at 200hz then slides until 30hz. Bass booster and phaser added. Then enveloppe manualy modified (enveloppe tool) + fade out processing for the end of the tail. Then normalized.

Did you hear that?. I isolated this sound from an ambience recording and edited it (added reverb and stuff).

Builds quickly, sustains and gradually fades. C minor arpeggio stretched from 11 seconds to 1 minute using the paulstretch effect on audacity. Low-fi recording with tablet and hi-q app.

Hitting what was either an old lantern or a bug zapper lost in some old woods in various ways (on my palm, knuckle, with a stick, etc) to make different percussion or niche snare noises.

Dark and powerful sound of a vintage, beast of a power amplifier, switching on. This is an older recording i had lying around, fades out at the end. Could for example be used as a sound effect for a title screen, or turning on a big piece of equipment.

Let it rain thunder is a sample of the passing of a storm recorded in late 2014 sydney australia. It is a 14 minute mp3 that features the sound of rain gradually getting stronger and stronger before sounds of rolling thunder and cracking thunder and the sound of rain fading out.

Inspired by recent makenoise cicada series. Added clouds to an o-ctrl (fast) sequenced mimeophon output and sending partly back though feedback loop. X-pan did the rest using ochd as the lfo mod. Source for panning and fade in/out.
