I made this using an alto recorder and then adding reverb to it. I have made it longer or shorter by just adding or taking away pieces in the middle. It was made to convey a sense of foreboding. I started recording a vinyl lp into my computer before realising that i hadn’t set the anti-skate properly and the needle was stuck in the lead-in groove. I trimmed this bit of snap crackle n’ pop and kept it in the hope that it might be useful for me or anyone else. Have fun.

This may be the most irritating squeak sound ever. In our office, we discovered a particular filing cabinet that squeaked if you would lean against it. It was too good to pass up. So i put my recorder in the drawer and leaned. This is the result: four squeaks of unparalleled irritation. I hope you can find a use for this in your projects.

I recorded a transformer with a guitar pickup then broadcasted it from a speaker, then re-recorded this sound, waving my mic at the speaker (like a light sabre). Add a bit of chorus and voila, it's that light sabre sound. Could be a bit more beefy, you can add some sub or something, anyhows, hope some of yous get some use out of it anyways innit???!.

A baler machine being used at a recycling centre. The baler goes through a full cycle from start to finish and is generally used to compress cardboard into small cubes which can then be recycled. I noticed one night my broken metallic glass screen door was making quite a ruckus in the wind. I grabbed my zoom h1 and a roll of duct tape and taped it to the interior portion of the door. I proceeded to record the semi-contact-mic results here in at 96 khz / 24 bit. Plenty of good stuff to pull from here, imo. Hope you can get some use out of this one. Enjoy.

I recorded this using my small sony cybershot camera. You'll notice that the wind goes from loud to soft to loud again, repeating. This because i am opening the window wide and then after a few seconds i close the window but not completely so that i get some low whistling sounds from the wind. I recorded for 18 minutes and i used audacity to edit it. Hope this sound is useful for you!.
