I was showing my 1 year old my recording studio. He was laughing and talking so i recorded him to play it back. His reaction was as wonderful as i could have hoped. This was recorded in my home studio, on a cad e100s microphone. Recorded in audacity, i copied the clip, lowered the pitch, stretched, added reverb, and reversed the audio. I also normalized to -3db.

I started recording a vinyl lp into my computer before realising that i hadn’t set the anti-skate properly and the needle was stuck in the lead-in groove. I trimmed this bit of snap crackle n’ pop and kept it in the hope that it might be useful for me or anyone else. Have fun.

This collection of kitchen sound effects was captured on a tascam dr-07. I carried the recorder around the kitchen opening and closing drawers, the refrigerator, and clattering/clanking plates and silverware. I even did a water pour into a drinking glass. After recording i edited the sounds in protools using a variety of compression and limiting plugins. I hope you find this useful.

I noticed one night my broken metallic glass screen door was making quite a ruckus in the wind. I grabbed my zoom h1 and a roll of duct tape and taped it to the interior portion of the door. I proceeded to record the semi-contact-mic results here in at 96 khz / 24 bit. Plenty of good stuff to pull from here, imo. Hope you can get some use out of this one. Enjoy.

This may be the most irritating squeak sound ever. In our office, we discovered a particular filing cabinet that squeaked if you would lean against it. It was too good to pass up. So i put my recorder in the drawer and leaned. This is the result: four squeaks of unparalleled irritation. I hope you can find a use for this in your projects.

A field recording of a small cafe/restaurant in my area. I was tucked away in one of the far away tables so the people talking sounded more distant decided to record it as part of my college project. Would make good atmos. Recorded in stereo on a zoom h4npro microphone. Hope this helps! :)).

This is one of my favorite sounds to open my live sets with and is featured in my track water's bomb, as well as in the intro to the digital juggernauts album, "giant killer robots. " to make it, you use a sample of a plane flying over, i used a 707, and a djm-500's pitch shifter fx. As the sample gets longer, turn the pitch to the high end, then to the low end. It was my turn to walk the dog and i was really up for it. As i walked a distance, i could see rain coming from miles away. I could also see that i wouldn't be able to make it home before it got to me, so the dog and i took shelter in a baseball dugout at a local park. The roof was sheet steel, the rain was thunderous and it lasted just about eleven minutes. Hope someone can use it.

This is me playing around with my various string instruments. I decided to try to create a creepy string texture-ish sound, but it came out sounding like a haunted string orchestra. I hope you like it. I used a foot-long violin, a full-sized violin, a ukulele, and my father's home-made frettless banjo-thing.

Typing (real words!) on a kinesis advantage keyboard with cherry mx brown mechanical switches. Recorded at my desk with rode procaster, triton fethead, focusrite scarlett 2i2 into audacity. Untreated room (hence dynamic mic) but noise remoived with audacity. I needed this for my own purposes so i thought i'd upload it. I hope someone finds it useful :).

Hoping this one doesn't have the squeak sounds like with the wav file. My first attempt at ambient guitar. Recorded with my epiphone sg through the walrus slo pedal on 'rise'setting, into the focusrite 2i2 interface and then into reaper. The bass is a squier mini-bass through a behringer bxl1800 amp into the interface and into reaper. I used reverb, eq, compression and pan surround on both instruments. Comments welcome and let me know what you use it for. :-).

This is the sound of the broken fan at the bathroom in my friends house. It sounds a lot like a cricket, but i can assure you it’s a machine- once again this was straight off my phone so sorry if the quality is pretty bad. I hope this can still be of use to you. Car horn honking like a guy stuck in traffic (which i know all too well). Two versions of irritation. Recorded using a audio technica at891r with a scarlett solo preamp then cleaned up using izotope rx8 advanced to remove some ambient noise. No need to credit if you don't want to.
