A stereo wav recording from a zoom h1n during a thunderstorm today. One siren picks up followed by several more producing a convincing stereo image. I have done a basic bass roll-off, but have left it otherwise untouched. If you have a spectral editor you can probably clean out more of the noise, but i couldn't do so and keep the sirens sounding good.

This is a slightly edited and normalised iphone recording of a lyrebird's performance at healesville sanctuary in victoria, australia and shows the range of sounds they can imitate. Among other copied bird calls you can hear a camera shutter and other harder to pick sounds that sound a little bit like lasers. It's pretty amazing what they can do!.

This was recorded in a small, underground brick wine cellar during a wine-tasting event in europe. While the language spoken in the clip is slovak, it's impossible to pick out any indivdiual conversations, so this could be used as background noise in any project. Experimental recording idea i had in summer 2017, i buried two contact microphones half a foot deep in a rock beach and captured the noise ambience picked up in the rocks, as well as the tide coming over the microphones eventually. I foudd this frequency, between 4450 and 4475 khz whilst going through channels on radiosdr. Org. It sounds a bit like a printer and then lower down sounds like a laser. Sorry for the sound of me pressing the keyboard, my laptop has an internal microphone so this was picked up.

Audio from video clips recorded this morning, thurs 29 april 2021, in south yorkshire. Blue tit right at the start of the recording. Some breeze has got picked up by the microphone on the camera. The bluetits are nesting in our garden and i've been filming them coming and going. They often perch and sing before going into the nestbox. Sometimes it's other bluetits visiting the garden rather than just the two who are nesting.

This is a whole lot of longsword-on-longsword sounds. I was specifically trying to get nice sounds for "winding", when two swords are pushed back and forth and around each other as opponents look for an opening. There are also some "binding" sounds, when the two swords first clash. Some of these binding noises did peak the mic. None of these binding noises were the swords hitting at full force - they are all weaker binds. Pick and choose the noises you like to build your sword fight foley.

Recorded using jez riley french contact microphones, on a windy day on the south coast of england. I connected a pair of contact microphones to different parts of a metal fence and let the wind do the rest. Starts off gently and gradually the intensity increases as the wind picks up. You can hear the fence rattling and a ambient drone of the wind blowing.

Today i was cleaning the house on a leisurely sunday, and came across a piece of thicker paper by my printer. When i picked it up to put it in recycling, it was rather loud. There have been many times on jobs where i needed such a sound, and thought it would be a good asset to record and share. Hopefully it comes in handy for others needing this element. Coming hair: you can hear the typical crunch of tangled hair being combed out. You can hear the hairbrush gliding through the hair. It varies in tempo and rhythm to add realism to this sound. As she struggles with the knots it is slow but picks up tempo as her hair becomes less tangled. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg in a recording studio. Great for any make-over montage or scene.

Sound / noise from the electromagnetic frequencies of a wifi modem / router while streaming music on youtube. There seems to be a lot of radiation and interference from the device. Recorded with a micbooster electromagnetic pick-up into a zoom h6.

I just pitch up my voice where it's at a comfortable level and not at the highest peak in pitch. I slowly ease into the vocal sound to avoid any vocal damage. While i'm easing in there's a very quiet high pitch whistle coming from the back of my throat, too quiet for the microphone. Sometimes while recording i do get a squeak and a crackle sound that gets picked up, but none of that here.

Recorded around midnight in mount saint francis woods in southern indiana on the kentucky border on a dr70r with shotgun mic. Not loopable as the wind picks up over time and is noticeable when you loop back to beginning. Light editing in reaper (eq down some wind sounds, splicing out distant traffic). Explosion sound. The explosion sound was a mixture of a the initial explosion, the a wind sound that may be heard when there is an explosion and the rumble effect that would also be picked up on. I had to re sample all of these separate operator sounds and then put the audio track in a sampler the add some final touches. These included large hall reverb and utility for the large impact explosion and rumble sound as well as panning, reverb and delay for the wind sound to give it the effect of traveling around a surrounding area with the sound slowly decaying.

I bought a portable sw radio for about £2 from a local flea-market, hoping to pick up some interesting radio stations from around the world and maybe some "spy" numbers stations if i was lucky. I heard a strong sounding grasshopper in a neighbor's busch i run into my house and picked up my recorder and mic and run out tried coming closest possible for good sound, but it was a little too close because the hopper become silent. I installed in december 2011 my sound data for bfd-eco, an acoustic drum vst that really rocks. By that time i had my akai mpc 1000 connected to my computer to do some sampling. While i didn't do any sampling while the installation progressed i did hear that the external hard drive that i was installing onto sent out disturbing binary pulses that my mpc picked up. I quickly started the sampler, and recorded as much as i could of the noises. This is the result.

Recorded on a ipad, which seems to pick up background noise from the subway system. Sorry about that. I am on the train, it stops, i get out and hear an announcement on the other side. This station has two tracks, one running in either direction. Generally, when you hear an announcement, you hear mandarin first (woman's voice), cantonese next (slightly different woman's voice), then english in a man's voice. This is line 1 in downtown shenzhen. Interestingly, the next train going in the same direction of the one i got off, arrives within the time of this recording, about 1. 5 minutes later.

This is a short, dissonant loop made with a neapolitan mandolin. This has been recorded with an sm7b into a rme interface, and quantized to 148bpm in logic pro x. This is a dry file with no other processing. I used it on a couple of old-school hip-hop beats to trigger effects or completely butchering with distortion for some extra textures. I thought it might come in handy to rap producers out there! if you do something with it, i would love to check it out!. I was recording an acoustic version of a song called "closer" by my band dead rituals, and a friend let me borrow this old neapolitan mandolin. I made some random noises by picking behind the strings at the end of a take, and i decided to sample it!.

I picked up a home-grade reel to reel machine at a thrift store and and this is the tape which was in it. A father sends messages from home to his son in the u. S. Navy during the vietnam war, including fatherly advice about cars and shopping overseas and anxiously awaiting his sons return. He provides sample fodder at 14:19 about musical gear lust and otherwise provides an insight to the times. This is a single guitar string plucked with a pick directly at the headstock, that means between the tuners and the nut. There the string is very short and tight, resulting in a high, almost piano-like tone. Also, since there is no sound box, the tone is rather quiet. I used this for a sampler and i liked the sound of it. This is the raw recording. If you want to use it in a sampler too, i recommend adding some eq, reverb and maybe some delay. It is not perfectly in tune though, the closest note is a#. You might tweak the tuning a little bit when using it in combination with other tuned instruments. I sold my giant couch, and two professional movers came to pick it up. Before they moved it, they whipped out a huge roll of clear plastic, and expertly passed it around and around the sofa until the whole thing was wrapped. The wind was blowing away from the people towards me, which is the reason, why you can hear the people well, even though there were trees between the people and the recording micorphone. Mabe you can hear a few cars very far in the distance along with the near taxis, picking the people up to take them home, too.

Just having some fun with the 6 inches of snow that we received. The first part of this is me walking/breaking some ice that had formed in a low area and then me walking on snow, which has a frosty glaze on top of it. Recorded with the handy/zoom h-4n recorder using its built-in microphones. The built-in microphones can be adjusted to pick up sound from 90 degrees around the microphones to 180 degrees. For this recording, i had them on 180 degrees. *note, you will also -- if you listen carefully -- hear a male robin singing in a tree. Pretty unique combination - the snow and ice being crunched with the typical sound of spring in background. He must have been one tough bird!.

The kind of soft but very fast clapping that you would put in a spanish flamenco song or (as it was the case for the session) an argentine folklore song (chacarera). Soft clap — very tight, soft hitshard clap — tight, hard hit. Soft group — a little less tight, sounds like many people, still softhard group — less tight, many people, hard hit. Soft supergroup — i put three takes of this at the same time (one l, one center, one r), some hits sounded better than others so i picked the ones that sounded the best. Soft hits. I was awakened at about 3 am by a local thunderstorm. It was raining softly and lightning came regularly. I recorded over 4 minutes of it from my front porch using an iphone and added recording app, and nothing else. This file is unmodified. A young backpacker is walking along a country road but is kidnapped and bound. When caged, he comes to the realization that his mountain-dwelling captors are practicing cannibals. After escaping his bonds and getting out of the makeshift cage, he silently slips from the campsite into the hills, and after picking his way around rocks and waterfalls and through miles of forest, he is hopelessly lost. You will hear the rain on the roof and i move the phone closer and further away from the roof so to get a good soundrange. . I also open the door and let the recording pick up the natural outside showering and rain gushing over the gutters hitting the patio and back step. .
