Recording of my duduk. It's in the key of a, so i played a b3 and pitched it up to c3 with melodyne so it's usable in a sampler or to import as a wavetable in serum or whatever. Because of it's harmonic content, it actually works great as a clean yet relatively translatable sub bass for electronic music. I used it to make a wavetable in serum which works perfectly. The instrument is a double reed woodwind folk instrument from armenia, the reeds are made of a flattened piece of bamboo, and the body is made of the wood from an apricot tree. And it's history dates back to approximately 1200bc. Enjoy!.

A recording of a shower door, i used this sound through izotope iris 2 to produce a low, slow bassy kick sound, for a pretty ambient piece i did. I don't know why i became fascinated with the shower door. Bathroom time can be surprisingly pensive, so perhaps the sound of the door shunting shut became associated with that introspective space for me. Yes, i am aware that this the second bathroom sound i have shared. This may take on a certain significance given the fact that i have only shared a handful of recordings, but i encourage you not to read too deeply in to this fact.

Alien xxx sent me a “cross modulation challenge”. I have tried to be true to his idea, but added automation, so to speak. Oscillator1 is constantly fm-modulating oscillator2. I vary the frequency of oscillator1 with an lfo. The output of oscillator1 is sent to a) left audio channel and b) in to oscillator2. The output of oscillator2 is fed to oscillator1. The degree of cross fm modulation is controlled by a vca controlled by another lfo. The output of oscillator2 is also sent to right audio channel. As i’m writing this i have just made a theoretical patch on a piece of paper. The result is what you hear. No effects added. Straight out of the modular for better or worse.

I've benefited from freesound in the past so i wanted to give something back. I created this audio sample of the black speech of mordor (a section of the ring poem), as part of a cinematic orchestral lord of the rings piece to add flavour to it and wondered if others might find a use for it in their own projects. The sample does have added reverb but to my ears this is not excessive. The phrase is:-. Ash nazg durbatulûk,ash nazg gimbatul,ash nazg thrakatulûkagh burzum-ishi krimpatul. This translates to:-. Various sounds of a carrot chopped into small pieces. The carrot lies on a wooden chopping board. There are also sounds, where you can hear how slices are moved on the board using the knife. All sounds in the pack "kitchen sounds 2022" were recorded with the zoom h6 and the xyh-6 microphone module. The sound was recorded at 96khz with 24bits. I limited the postprocessing to cutting and small gain adjustments. Also, i grouped similar sounds into larger files for easier handling and sound comparison. This is from a recording session trying to create laser weapon sounds. I just used the same technique as ben burtt used in wall-e (with the slinky and the contact mic). This is unprocessed, no eqs, compression, reverb or anything was added. I used a long piece of curled up aluminum wire which i hung from a tall structure at my house and the main object i used to oscillate the wire was a drum stick. For the recording i used the blue icicle and recorded into reaper. The contact mic is my own creation from a diy i found online (roughly €5 to make). I found this fairly small low area, in deep woods, with about 5 inches of water in it. I wouldn't really say it is a pond because it will probably be dry in a month or so after the spring rains. (i think ecologists would call this small body of water an "ephemeral" pond). These spring peepers were putting on quite a chorus as the sun was going down. You'll hear a different sounding frog - or peeper - several times in: at 9 seconds in, 13 seconds in and 15 seconds in. When i first heard it, it sounded like a creaky door! hope you find this fascinating and enjoyable as well. Would make a great soundtrack for a swampy piece. Recorded using my trusty rode ntg-2 going into a zoom h4n recorder.

Here is a recording taken from a boardwalk running through a swamp in jackson county illinois. Recorded on friday september 23 2022 as the season of autumn begins to stir. By now the neo-tropical warblers and other migrants are gone. Leaving the woodpeckers and blue jays and crows. A reflective ambiance of a now dry swamp, slowing down awaiting the arrival of full-on autumn, then winter. You hear the wind sifting through the branches of the oaks, and hickories and maples, the chattering of woodpeckers, and, since this is the time of year of the harvest, you hear the often dropping of acorns, and hickory nuts, and pieces of hickory nuts and acorns, as the squirrels 30 feet above the swamp get sloppy with their lunch. A quick piece i made using various effects, to give the impression of a factory accident in which a fire/explosion occurs, and steam vents and opened etc. Attribution information:. I'm afraid i threw that together 7 years ago when i would have been 14 years old. I can't really remember whether i used any other sounds to make it, or if i generated it (and definitely can't remember who needs attributed if soundswere used). If you recognise any of your work in this - just give me a shout/report it; i've got no problem removing this, as i said; did it a long time ago and forgot i'd even made it. This sound file incorporates sounds from freesound. Org due to the pandemic at hand and not being able to go out and record these sounds individually. The addresses i chose are sportsman’s park racetrack (cicero) and mission hills golf club. I made a substitution with one sound file that i recorded myself in nature in my neighborhood to incorporate the sounds of a golf course. Although the other file was used from freesound. Org. This piece uses these sounds from freesound: vw golf r, by everydaysounds. Additionally, what can be heard on this file is the sounds of birds chirping and rain falling as well as the sound a fast car speeding around a track to propose some contrast. Something that could spark the listener’s interest is that not often does nature and the machines that we humans make harmonize with each other, but in this i think they flow just fine. A recording made around noon on the edge of a woods located right in the middle of a major midwestern university. Throughout this entire recording, you'll hear the everpresent hum of heating and air conditioner units running. You will also hear faint conversations and laughter of students as they walk to class, faint sounds from a nearby construction site, distant rumble of traffic, the distant droning of an airplane lazily floating through the april sky. From time to time you will also hear the well known "beep. . . Beep. . . . . Beep. . . . " of a piece of heavy equipment backing up. However, despite all of the dominating background of man and his machines, nature comes through. Sincei was sitting on the edge of a fairly large woods which sits in the center of all of the concrete and glass and steel, the sweet singing of birds lasts throughout much of this recording. Equipment used: zoom h4n recorder using the internal stereo microphones set on 180 degrees for the greatest sound capture.

Our neighbors fought a lot. Usually at around 2am and it would go on for about an hour or two. Besides being angry and annoyed, my girlfriend and i were always curious as to what they could possibly be fighting about. I had the idea to record them via a long mic cable stretching down the hallway, strategically hidden behind a few pieces of wood, to their apartment door. My plan was to one day play this from my stereo at a loud volume around 2am. As i later thought this through i realized that this would only disturb my other quiet neighbors and was a fairly selfish act. Anyway, i used a $100 audio-technica stereo mic and recorded it directly into my computer as an. Aiff. They seem to be arguing about a stereo and someone not loving the other. It's rather sad. We no longer live in that building so i have no idea what became of them. I hope they are happier now. Enjoy.
