Afternoon atmosphere at on the famous place jamaa el fna in marrakech marokko. You can hear people talking or making business, snake charmer with flutes and cobra snakes and mopeds drive across the square.

This is a recording of the breakroom at a former place of employment. It starts in the breakroom with employee chatter and moves to the warehouse where the lights overhead can be heard. It is an uneditted file / straight capture from phone.

Field recording with my new zoom h1n. A walk from work to the place des art metro station, waiting for the metro, and riding it home from work. It's been a while since i had a good recorder.

As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully don't turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. This was recorded in the burbank town center food-court area. I was careful to avoid specific conversation for legal purposes. There was a cranky baby nearby, so you get an occasional frantic cry. In 's-hertogenbosch in holland we have carnival every year. This is a recording in the centre of the city. A recording of several 'dweilorkesten' that is a band that plays musing in the street. 'literal' translation is 'mop band or mopping band'. The go trough the streets like someone mopping the floor. This recording at the market-place is made with hundreds of people around. The ambience here is totally different from other places in the town and the world. It complete different than the south american carnival. Recorded: march 7th 2011, markt, 's-hertogenbosch, holland. Sounds from making holes in the ground to place a mortar in it, it could also be used for preparations of building a tent. What i envision most is though that a real time strategy worker is harvesting coal, iron, metal, gold or stone resources using a pickax or shovel on hard ground.
