To make this series of sounds, i blended a bunch of samples together, some recorded on my go-to usb mic, some synthesized in ableton. I thought they fit together nicely vs being isolated pieces. It's a long, organic and haunting two-tone call echoing in the forest night; a clear alternative to the mechanical and tightly musical ringtones out there, and one i like a lot. Edited to wrap nicely for a continuing repeat.

Recording made on december 17th, 2014 with the zoom h4n recorder and using its internal, built-in stereo microphones with the record volume set on 82.

A remix of freesound 252834 and 17804. I took 252834 and course quantized it in goldwave, then lowered the volume and mixed it with some of the static from 17804. Then i played the mix through my computer speakers and recorded it with my webcam to immitate the cheesy fake apparatus used by the ghost hunters tv series and the like.

Created and formatted for the make noise morphagene, this reel is divided into three sections with like sounds clustered together for ease of navigation. The first group of splices are glitchy, percussive, experimental, modular snippets. The middle third consists of melodic and chordal washes. The final cluster is a series of field recordings taken from a recent trip to beirut, lebanon, with a cut up inspired splice at the very end. Collectively, i hope this sonic material will inspire the user to mangle, manipulate, and deconstruct to taste.

I made a waveshaper in the js audio language that applies random math operations to the signal. The original signal is liteon's (of reaper forums) lorenz attractor synth, which is then run through the waveshaper, then that signal controls the pitch of a soundwave. Later on i waveshape the resulting soundwave but i don't think it has the best results (dc offset city). A lot of the cooler sounds/series of pitches are made by changing the number of operations on the fly, or shuffling a new set of operations for the waveshaper to use.

It's a small, highly tweakable synthesizer that's great for drones, resonant pings, and all manner of dynamic electronic sounds. ‘slayer’ refers to s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin made by twisted tools. By layering, blending, and mulching the original monos recordings, i was able to get a range of sounds the are dynamic, punchy, and unabashedly stereo. These might be useful for edgy-sounding ui elements.

This is a first in a series of noises from machines. I work at a company that prints and packages things like decals and parts on cars. This is the noise of the printer making some sort of thumping noise, as it was broken at the time and hadn’t gotten to be fixed. If you’re wondering what hat terrible whirring is in the background, that is the combined noise of about a dozen large machines operating as well as the ac and it’s pretty commonplace there. Ocean waves recorded from between two rocks. Recorded on a zoom h4 with the mics covered in zeppelin fur at 44100 hz 24-bit. There's some slight wind noise that can be filtered from 150hz downward. This is part of a series of recordings for an ambient music project i'm working on. There are some excellent ocean recordings on freesound if you're looking for a more traditional ocean sound, but my intent with these clips was to try to capture some natural phase-shifting by placing the h4 in cracks and crevices for a more hollow, "closed-in" sound.
