A remix of freesound 252834 and 17804. I took 252834 and course quantized it in goldwave, then lowered the volume and mixed it with some of the static from 17804. Then i played the mix through my computer speakers and recorded it with my webcam to immitate the cheesy fake apparatus used by the ghost hunters tv series and the like.

I made a waveshaper in the js audio language that applies random math operations to the signal. The original signal is liteon's (of reaper forums) lorenz attractor synth, which is then run through the waveshaper, then that signal controls the pitch of a soundwave. Later on i waveshape the resulting soundwave but i don't think it has the best results (dc offset city). A lot of the cooler sounds/series of pitches are made by changing the number of operations on the fly, or shuffling a new set of operations for the waveshaper to use.

This is a first in a series of noises from machines. I work at a company that prints and packages things like decals and parts on cars. This is the noise of the printer making some sort of thumping noise, as it was broken at the time and hadn’t gotten to be fixed. If you’re wondering what hat terrible whirring is in the background, that is the combined noise of about a dozen large machines operating as well as the ac and it’s pretty commonplace there. This is part of a series of recordings for an ambient music project i'm working on. There are some excellent ocean recordings on freesound if you're looking for a more traditional ocean sound, but my intent with these clips was to try to capture some natural phase-shifting by placing the h4 in cracks and crevices for a more hollow, "closed-in" sound.

It's a small, highly tweakable synthesizer that's great for drones, resonant pings, and all manner of dynamic electronic sounds. Using s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, i focused on generating short, punchy impulses that leaned into the resonant character of the original monos recordings. These sounds might be useful for ui buttons, as well as designing modern-retro sounds for games.

The florida grand prix runs every spring in the waterfront streets of st. Petersburg florida. I was standing in a blocked off street (so i wouldn't get run over) about 500 feet from the passing grand prix cars. These were the trial runs on friday, march 28, 2014. It's a 3 day event that attracts tens of thousands of race enthusiasts each year. This is the first event of the annual national series and it's said to be the favorite street course with race drivers.
