This is a nylon coat with a wide-tooth zipper being zipped and unzipped at various speeds plus a couple of intermittent 'stuck zipper' sections. In several places i left the swishing sound of the nylon coat in to simulate the sound of a sleeping bag being zipped/unzipped. Recorded with stereo nt1a mics in a soundbooth. No effects.

This is a whole string of sounds involving a handheld cassette player, including removing the cassette from the case, rewinding, fast-forwarding, stopping, and playing. Stereo field-recording of early morning (ca. 7:30 am) traffic on a rainy weekday in the little english town of goring-on-thames. The street is quite busy with traffic and has been mic'd close-range, giving quite a wide stereo image. One can clearly hear the rotten weather this clip was recorded in.

A chicken yard in the transsylvanian village of țichindeal/romania. Some 300 chickens, along with 2 pigs and some geese are going about their business, a farmhand can be heard filling a water trough at the beginning. Slightly more wide-angle than the two other chicken yard recordings. Recorded with a rode nt-sf1 and matrixed to stereo.

An ambient sort of sound done by doodling around in photosounder. Using the white spray with the harmonics on i drew two squiggly lines across the image horizontally, then flipped the image 90 degrees counter-clockwise, then with a wide dark brush i darkened some areas of the image to make the sound progress for a narrow band continuous noise to a full bandwidth squiggly kind of noise.

Voices can be heard in the far distance, along with the rythmic ticking of the hydraulically powered art-installation "heart of a mountain". This file is part of the sample-pack "muzeum"recording was conducted with a zoom h2 with the internal mics set to 90° dispersion.

Recordings of a fairground in a small town in germany, starting the day's business. Wide angle shot of the fairground, somewhat later. All the rides are working, some early customers are milling around, you can hear german "schlager"-music playing and a spooky voice beckoning people to the haunted house ride. This is a field recording from inside the "experience gallery" of the musical instrument museum (phoenix, arizona). The experience gallery is full of gongs, bells, drums, gamelan instruments, stringed instruments, marimbas, xylophones, and even a theremin. A schoolgroup of children were let loose at the time of this recording. Recorded in stereo with a sony pcm-d50 (onboard mics, wide pattern) while in motion.

Electric sparkle sound made in harmor in flstudio. Sound is made of harmor generating dark, unison, subbas oscilation with three partials with fundamental frequency of 50hz. Partials got decaying amplitude along frequencies. Bass is put into wave shaper with smooth, negative peak distortion at 50% of positive range. Then falls into parametric equalizer boosting 3khz, forming wide parabolic shape. Bass frequencies are cut off. 44. 1khz, 16bit.

This is a field recording made with a zoom h1-n recorder. As we approached a nest in a tall douglas fir tree, a red-tailed hawk flew out, landed in a tree near us, and called out constantly. Perhaps these calls were trying to distract us from the nest, where we could see, with binoculars, two young heads in the wide nest. This is a recording of four of those calls.

I recorded this using my small sony cybershot camera. You'll notice that the wind goes from loud to soft to loud again, repeating. This because i am opening the window wide and then after a few seconds i close the window but not completely so that i get some low whistling sounds from the wind. I recorded for 18 minutes and i used audacity to edit it. Hope this sound is useful for you!.

Wide angle recording of a rainy late summer day on a beach in fehmarn, a large island off the west german baltic riviera. It is windy, the sea is quite choppy, several kite surfers are on the water. Some voices can be heard in the background. The recorder is about 100 meters away from the shoreline. These are the rear channels of a 4ch surround recording. Recording conducted with a zoom h2n.

This was recorded with a trustin portable rechargeable 8gb dictaphone. The recorder was held about 7" away for the louder scrapes and drops and no more than 3" away with the softer scraping sounds. Some normalization was used to drop the peaks. The tiles were in the small hall of an apartment, facing an open door. The hall was approximately 3 feet wide and 8 feet long. This is free to use anywhere you may find useful, and i'd love to hear the results.

This is a (-nother) synthetic soundscape i did some years ago, reminiscent of a wide, enclosed, dark cavern, very good for subtly underlaying film scenes playing in appropriate locations. Here is the sound of a 50-caliber barrett rifle being fired. You'll first hear the sound of the bolt being pulled back. Really cool sound if you can listen on some nice big speakers. Recorded with my handy zoom h4n using a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone. I was standing about 20 feet from the rifle, and i still have the input gain turned way down to about 30, just to make sure the circuitry was not overloaded. Also, since this was in a big, wide-open field, you get a nice echo.

Produced by using two old school analog synths, a cs-80 and a dx7. All chorus, phaser and reverb settings were manipulated within the synths. An external hi-pass eq plugin was added in order to cut off the subs at 30hz. These old analog synths produce frequencies way below the tolerance of your monitors; thus the need for a bass cutoff, not to mention to also prevent involuntary bowel leakage xd.

Imagine a warm, damp-humid august evening in the midwest. It's about 8pm and you're in a mowed path which is 10 feet wide. On either side of you, are two fields of tall -- 9 feet --- corn standing like green, thick grassy sentinels. This is where i was when i recorded this hypnotic sound-scape on saturday night august 9th 2014. I made this recording with my marantz pmd661 (modified by oade brothers electronics)in stereo using twin, matched samson co2 microphones mounted on my tripod about 5 feet above the ground. My record volume was 6 1/2.

This is the sound of a rat gnawing its way down through our wooden ceiling (and 2 days after this recording there was a hole about an inch wide in the ceiling!). Recorded july 15th 2015 around 10 o'clock in the evening in the livingroom of my house in fredensborg, denmark, with a portable recorder zoom h2n. The soundfile was then exported from the recorder to a windows pc through usb, and normalized (i. E. Amplitude brought up to 0 decibel) using steinberg's wavelab software before uploading to freesound.

A simple multi-sampled synthetic spacebass pack, containing 25 samples, derived from 2 octaves of a home made soft-synth patch. The original quality was 24 bits with a sample rate of 88. 2khz, which i converted with a very good src to 16 bits and 44. 1khz. Not that is was that important after all considering the fact that the patch itself has a grainy character in the higher frequencies. . . No compressing, equalizing whatsoever involved, the panning is pretty wide tho, with left and right sounding rather different, but in stereo it still feels pretty balanced i think.

Moderately flowing stream - jack creek in central oregon's cascade mountains flows out of the ground at the base of three fingered jack mountain. The water comes from a glacier on the mountain a couple of miles from where multiple springs create the large creek bubbling up from the dry ground. This recording was done several hundred feet downstream where the creek was already about 50 wide and only about a foot deep. This is a recording of a lot of morse code conversations on the 40 meter band of amateur radio. Mainly between 7 - 7. 012 mhz using lsb, usb, cw wide, cw narrow, and am filters. I used a yeasu ft-757gx transceiveri mainly recorded this because i thought the am filter on the morse code sounded very unique and space like. Feel free to cut out whatever you like and modify. Also the buzz is from the computer's sound card impurity being amplified through the transceiver, this is not easy to fix. Recorded on 3:50 utc 2013-11-2.

I'm doing some ww1 commemorative stuff and couldn't find any marching on freesound. So here's my effort: 25s of medium pace marching on gravel, made from a few freesound samples mixed and retimed to match the pace. It's a very bright, close-mic sound, with wide stereo spread. It should loop seamlessly. So this is a composite made from:60076__sinatra314__footsteps-in-gravel-loop109487__tomlija__11-footsteps-on-the-gravel213307__taira-komori__walking-on-the-earth. I've retimed them all to be roughly in synch, added a multitap delay to boost the numbers of feet and some eq to give more of an impression of space.

Imagine you just landing on an unfamiliar planet, where the local on the planet is just some unpopulated area with a open wide field or jungle. You don't see any one, or anything, but either dust,trees, grass, or a vacant road. While your wondering through this place you also notice that that nightfall is approaching, and you can see the moon and the starts of this planet. This synth patch is just the sound for that, a drone bass synth patch used to create some imaginary audience feel that would lead you or someone to be driven to madness. This patch was made in massive.

4ch surround recording of the intersection of the opernring and kärntener straße in vienna/austria. The recording was conducted close range at street level directly at the intersection by a tram line, the rear mics, featured in this file, are pointing onto the sidewalk, away from the street, at a right angle. The close range affords very detailed reproduction of vehicle and tire noises, as well as the tram driving by the mics at the end of the recording. Recording conducted with a zoom h2. These are the rear channels, mics set to 120° dispersion.

Ambient echo sound. This sound required the combination of operator using the triangle wave and plenty of reverb. I layered this sound by using two different octaves to cover most frequency ranges that sounded best and to fill any gaps in the sound effect. This sound is inspired by scene transitions and wide shots where there may be a lack of other sounds so this frees up a space for a calm ambient sound that uses plenty of sustain and reverb. The triangle wave in the operator gave it more of a high pitched calm flowing sound. The other options for example sine wave sounds to harsh and sharp for this type of sound.

In front of my desk in my room is a wood paneled wall with a cubbie. It's about a foot wide, 10 inches from top to bottom and maybe 7 inches deep. I'm just guessing. Around this cubbie is a border of wood. In the bottom right corner under the border i have jammed one end of an elastic string that used to have glitter on it. It's from a christmas box of chocolates my uncle sent me last year. I stand in front of this cubbie whose bottom is at chin height, (i'm only 5ft1in) so my arms are above my head as i pull this string across the cubbie up and to the left to the border on the top which acts as my only fret. The string is a few inches longer than the cubbie is wide, but when i pull it it gets longer so my hand is 3/4 along it's length as i pull back and forth across the border to tighten and loosen the string. No matter how hard i pull it never pops loose from it's mooring. This time the mic is sitting in the cubby so i get a much clearer and louder sound. When i stretch the string across the top it has a fairly long sustain, so i can play 4 notes on a single pluck.

The traffic light means that the birds and neighbor's dog start predominant, then are taken over by the rush of traffic as the light changes to green. A sunny day, but clouds are in the distance, as an impending storm is about to roll in. The whining dog seems to share his sentiment about the dark clouds. Recorded with a zoom h6, stereo xy adapter set to 120 degree spread. Set up through a wide open window as to cut down on wind noise.

From 01:33 to 01:54 i'm trying to imitate a korean folk vibrato kind of thing. In the second part until 02:29 i am playing 45 to 60° from horizontal and it sounds like a full-bodied string bass with no buzz. In the last part beginning at 02:34 i am playing about 75° from horizontal across the top border of the cubbie on the left so it sounds buzzy and african again, and i'm just going crazy goofing around with a crazy bluesy rock sort of rhythm. There didn't seem to be any homemade 1-stringed wall-cubbie basses on this site so here is mine, have fun. I don't play it if mom is home because the living room is on the other side of the wall and she can't hear tv. Also my neighbor can probably hear it in the next apartment lol. Shortwave wide-band digital emission recorded on july 15, 2014 at 15:17 utc in am mode using 2 instances of the online remote controllable short-wave receiver located at the amateur radio club etgd at the university of twente the netherlands. Left channel was recorded below the central frequency, at a frequency of 10187khz, right channel was recorded above the central frequency, at 10191khz. This was an experiment to see if selective fading would create stereo effects, as the lower frequency part of the transmission would be heard better in the left channel, and the higher frequency component would be heard better on the right. I used goldwave to put the separate recordings into 2 channels of the same file, after i synched the recordings by ear at 1/16 playback speed using a set of 2 particularly strong lightning static crashes as a guide, trimming off everything that came before the first strike in both original recordings, then inserting silence in the range of a few milliseconds until the stereo separation was as close to zero as i could get it. I wasn't as successful at that as i've been with experiments with voice recordings from simultaneous broadcasts on 2 wavelengths that i haven't posted here.
