My fmc002 submission!. For this, i generated several sounds from audiopaint (free software) and spectrobits (free vsti), two image->sound synthesis softwares. These sounded interesting but i wasn't sure how to use them. Then i made a drum beat, synth bassline, and some other stuff, rendered the song, used paulstretch to stretch the song out 4x, put it back in the project, added even more stuff to other tracks (mostly timestretched versions of my own samples), rendered the result, brought that render back into the daw, and then reversed it. A lot of effects and automation were also used during all 3 stages of the track's creation. Further, each time i rendered, i used the same mastering chain, so eq and other stuff is being applied multiple times. This brings out some surprising timbres and overtones. Really, the final recording sounds nothing like the sounds i began with.

Theme hand saw :. Production step :i reccord the sound of someone speaking. I copy this sound 4 times. One time on two i « invert » the sound for creating a contrast. So four speaking are on the « original sens » and four on the contrary. On a another track, i take another short recording of a men voice and copy this once. I add this new track to the middle of the first once. To finish i chang the pitch of all the track with a percent of change of -24. Description :this sound look like an old wood hand saw. We clearly distinguish the saw movement. Going on and going back. Add a different recoording on the middle allows the sound to be realistic. Because the hand saw sound is not regular. This is a recording made in the room of my apartment in italy in the province of rieti, while i am testing a drone dji phantom 4 pro clone, purchased 3 days ago on the vova site, only during the test it suffered two accidents. The first 5 minutes for 3 flights everything went well, then on the fourth flight, as the drone was also without para-propellers, the first small accident happened, on landing he fell to the ground from the bed, then resumed flying for another two times. On the third flight there was a second bigger accident: first he started spinning the propellers against the wall for a while, then he fell to the ground rolling until he hid under the bed. This time, however, even after this great accident, the drone resumed flying normally as if nothing had happened. This recording was done with my iphone connected to the shure mv88 plus microphone.

[cow_bells_03. Wav]. Cow bells!. Each time a cow moves the head and/or the body - the cowbell, which is hung around the cow's neck, will bell. It seems that a cowbell is used on a roaming cow to easily locate the roaming cow. This sound can for example be used in agriculture simulations and farm games, for example triggered sometimes when the player clicks on a cow - you name it!. If you enjoyed the sound, please rate, comment, spread! it really helps!. Note: make sure to check out the other matrixxx-sounds! the sound quality is always better when you download the sound(s)! ⛄. Ambience. Mixtures of sounds from a distant rave party about 800 mts away on a valley (more than 1 dj playing at the same time). City night around 6 am. Some early birds. Volume goes up and down according to wind's direction. Recorded during "queima das fitas", coimbra, portugal. You can hear a tradicional student's song being sung, mixed with techno played from a dj. I have similar sounds with different beats, look in my profile. Note: music on the recording could be subject to copyright, use it at your own responsibility. Recorded with zoom h4n-pro 48 khz / 24 bit.

I have been hearing an animal or two beneath my bathtub for some time now. Today i discovered who it was. Leaving my apartment building this afternoon, i saw a cat sized racoon carrying her baby under the walkway. I went back inside and set up a microphone aimed at the floor by my bathtub. Methodology: shure sm58 into focusrite and recorded via ableton. Noise removed in audacity. I have a horrendous ground loop situation. In the future i may try to mic from below the apartment so that it isn't so muffled by the floor. Some noise comes from how much i had to amplify the signal to make it heard.

I sold my giant couch, and two professional movers came to pick it up. Before they moved it, they whipped out a huge roll of clear plastic, and expertly passed it around and around the sofa until the whole thing was wrapped. The noise the wrapping made was astonishingly loud and echoey in our place, and sounded very. . . Uh. . . Science fiction-y. Recorded on my samsung note 20 phone, and some movers' mumbles included, so not desperately high quality -- but maybe someone can use part of it for a wizard rending the space time continuum with a sharpened wormhole, or some such. :-).

This was a recording taken on a small train riding around the louisville zoo in kentucky, usa. I took this towards the end of the tour, and was on the back of the train so you can hear the announcer quite clearly directing us. Sorry if there’s some talking in the background, i was siting next to my aunt’s little foster child at the time and he was enjoying himself quite a bit. You can hear the train rumble against the tracks and slowly slow down, as well as some chatter of the riders and passerby. Used this myself in my song bossa nova- https://soundcloud. Oh! How I Hate to Get Up in the Morning, a song by Irving Berlin produced on U.S. Army time for the Army benefit show, Yip Yip Yaphank (1918). This recording, by Irving Kaufman, is from about 1919 - the University of California Santa Barbara gives it as "191-", and it cannot, of course, predate the song. While the sound quality is somewhat poor, the lyrics used here are likely nearer that sung in Yip Yip Yaphank than the standard ones given in the sheet music, making it useful. This is Indestructible Record #1569.

Example 12 from Stockhausen's article "… wie die Zeit vergeht …", illustrating with a version of the series from Gruppen fur drei Orchester that, "if you start from the intervals of a proportion series, then with every step forward the register of each duration is also already chosen" (Stockhausen 1963b, 117). There are "a number of basic durations, indicated in metronome marks and corresponding with the pitch proportions within the series, reaching far as the octave positions (basic duration units)" (Leeuw 2005, 174), or "a duration scale which changes its 'time register' … corresponds to a twelve-tone scale that extends over more than one octave" (Misch 1998, 157–58).

Operating my washing machine (front loader, brand: indesit). This reflect the full circle of a washing process from turning the control knob to the typical “clack” when the machine is finished and the look is once again released. All the intermediate steps like washing, spinning and so on, are shorten in time (otherwise this would be a 50min sound clip). But you can loop all those sounds very well. Recorded with a tascam dr-40. Note: feel free to use this sound in one of your own projects. If you want to, you also can send me a link. I would love to hear some of my field recording into someone’s work.

This recording was made alongside a camera trap survey while at loagan bunut national park in sarawak, malaysia. It's a quite nice little bit that we didn't expect to ever find a use for, but came across this website and through i would share it. It lasts a good long time with pretty consistent sounds, so best wishes on it's use. If you do decide to use it, it would be great if you could link also to our nonprofit called the tomistoma fund and it's website at www. Tomistomafund. Org or www. Facebook. Com/tomistomafund alongside the video. It would greatly assist with creating greater awareness for our cause. Take care!.

I was sitting in my car in the city centre of glasgow scotland waiting for a member of my family, so to pass the time i got out my little canon powershot a460 digital camera, wound down my window and recorded the sound of the heavy traffic driving past my car. This sound of mine is for anybody to use, no credit needed, but it would be fun if you can let me hear how you used the sound, if possible, that would be fun. Here is a link to the type of licence i use. Http://creativecommons. Org/publicdomain/zero/1. 0/.

The exciting thing about recording and cataloging natural sounds is how you get nice, unexpected surprises. I was up early recently one spring day and did not have any real plans to record, until i stepped outside with my coffee to see what the weather was like and was nicely surprised with the light, steady spring rain that was falling in my yard; during the whole time this energetic carolina wren kept on singing through the rain. I rain, got my recorder and recorded a full hour of this peaceful pattering. You hear the drops hitting the concrete patio, the shingled overhang and a plastic chair. I use a voltage controlled lfo (vclfo) for this experiment. When i send a trigger to the lfo it resets and start over again. In this example i'm using a sinus wave output. I send the output, the sinus wave, to1 - a sample and hold (s/h) module2 - a quantizer3 - straight to vco. The s/h and the quantizer are triggered at the same time. Even an envelope a generated with the same trigger. All three sounds are controlled by this envelope. First out we have s/h (left)second straight to vco (right)third the quantized (center). As usual its fun to take a real close look at the wave!.

While the world is holding its breath, waiting for the covid-19 to pass. . . The soundscape is different. Here in illinois, where we have a mandatory, stay at home order, the sounds of the morning winds and birds seem lonely. . . This was recorded on sunday march 29th, 2020. Usually this time of morning would also feature, people walking and talking on the sidewalk, more car traffic and church bells. . . . Recorded with the zoom f-4 recorder. The microphone was a sennheiser mkh-8060 literally pointed nearly straight up at a budding tulip poplar tree. The dominant feature is the constant river of whooshing wind. . . . . Seemingly underscoring the plight that is upon us.

I created another file to play when you don't recognise a telephone number that calls you, this time the people in the hoax have scottish accents and the music is deliberately degraded to make it scratchy, tinny and annoying. I was inspired by those nasty auto-switchboards you encounter now whenever you call anywhere, my thoughts were that if a spam caller conected to an auto-switchboard hopefully they would remove your number from their listings thinking it a business (most scammers and spammers only want to call residential numbers). Please enjoy using this to annoy the hell out of those bothersome spam callers. The music is royalty free for personal use.

Two mourning doves: one close, one far distant, in a mating call and response. Pretty clean, spring pre-air conditioner pollution season background with light birdsong way back. Recorded @ 8khz with a griffin italk mic to a recently refurbished 20gb 3rd generation ipod - my favorite lo-fi field recording / interview rig. If you have a recording device on your person, you get a lot of stuff you'd otherwise miss altogether. This rig helps me get those things too ephemeral to capture with a stereo pair; sounds i would regret not having at all. I keep it on my belt 90% of the time. Just in case.

Theme old bombtimer :. Production steps:i record the sound of a book falling on the floor. I copy the sound impact 8 times on the same track. At the end « i fade in closing ». On another track, i copy the first track. I displace this second track on the right with « time shift tool », it creates a shift. I change the pitch of this track with a percent of change of -47. On a third track i take another recording sound of a key knocking on metal. I copy this sound 8 times and put a « fade out » on all the third track. I shift the track to begin at 1sec. Description:this sound look like to an old bomb timber. There is two different sounds one look like a heartbeat and the second a clock ticking. Autumn is a time for slowing down and allowing yourself time for reflection and contemplation. The accomplishments and mistakes from the previous year. Especially if you make it a habit of getting out all year long and exploring nature, autumn can be a much-needed change in sensory soundscape. . . . After a busy spring listening to the many different warblers which come to visit and a busy summer immersed in the busy sounds of life----both human and natural----autumn's subtle, quiet muted soundscape can be almost like a re-birth for the ears and the soul. The insects, which had taken over center stage since august, are still singing---though now with a quieter volume and a more even sleep and though-inducing tempo. . . . . . . . Brisk winds from the north can be heard more clearly now----swishing, rustling the weedy, tan edges of fields. . . . . Hinting at the bite of much colder masses of canadian air waiting on deck for their turn in the months of november, december and january. . . I made this recording on the evening of october 4th 2014 at the edge of a field which was bordered by thick stands of oaks and pines of a major national forest. . . . . I couldn't help but pretend i was linus waiting in the pumpkin patch for the great pumpkin to arrive!. Recording made with my marantz pmd661 and a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone on a tripod about 3 feet above the ground. My input volume was 6. I hope you enjoy this soundscape as much as i do.

This recording was done early one morning in may 2012 in the middle of scotland. You can hear the usual sounds of the countryside at this time of year and day. The two front microphones were facing the river tay, the two back ones drummond hill. This is the sound those front ones captured. All of them microphones were audio technica at-3031 ones, connected to the rme quadmic preamp into an edirol r-44 recorder. To get a quadraphonic or surround sound you have to download both tracks (they are next to eachother on the list) and alter them the way you want. If you compare them, then it shows what a difference it makes where you point those microphones.

This sound field recording was made back in 2000 on a very late/early morning. I placed the sony microphone ontop of the car outside to record the crickets and cicadas. There were a lot of mosquitos out that hot night. One of them landed on the mic and actually bit the microphone. You have to listen close but the bug bites at about 14:28 and removes the mosquito blood sucker at about 34:28. If you want to hear it clearly i made an episode about the "hungry bug" on my show the "sound effects podcast" http://soundeffectspodcast. I was surprised this still worked. This is an old ibm selectric ii typewriter, with correcting tape, the “quieter” selectric at the time. It’s about 80 pounds, a real back-breaker. The carriage return bell is broken, unfortunately, so the best you might hear it is rattling due to the belt vibration. Recorded with a tascam dr-05, without the low-cut since i wanted a beefy sound. Placed direcly above the roller, about 12 inches away. I swapped the channels in audacity to match perception & sampled down to 48khz. Description: i roll in some paper, type a few paragraphs from some copy, and roll it out when i’m done. Man, can you type fast on these machines!.

Lazer sound. I made this lazer sound with the use of operator in ableton as well as adding a few effects to help round it out. I started with a basic sine wave and then began to adjust the frequency range to cut out some of the low end of the sound and enhance the high end to make it more realistic and movie accurate. I also had to shorten the decay time so it is more of a short zap sound than a prolonged note. Another step was giving it an initial high pitched sound and this was achieved by having the sound start higher up the scale with semitones and then dropping down giving the effect of shooting and something traveling from the source sound.

Made from taking two large atx (the form factor, the chassis) computer panels (that i havent used in quite some time), rubbing the entirety of them together quite brashly (one is on the ground), keeping the recorder on xy setup in my other hand in unison then dropping them onto each other. Inside of reaper, i begin changing the rate and pitching them down and applied saturation, distortion and reverberation gave them a very clean effect of a decrepit gate shutting down. Good for trapping your enemies in a battle to the death for which the title is inspired from; one of those tension moments a person in a film/game finds themselves in.

An enjoyable, reflective soundscape of kids playing and swinging and laughing in a park in a small, midwestern usa town. This was recorded at 1:30 in the afternoon on a beautiful, mild november day in 2020. Very pleasing to listen to, and probably helps to bring back memories of your own, warm childhood memories. Even though covid-19 is causing a huge problem all over the world, i find it very soothing and comforting knowing, despite the pandemic, kids are still doing what they've been doing since, well, forever, playing and laughing and having the care-free fun time of their life. Recorded with sound device mixpre-6 and audio technica at8010 omni-directional condensor microphone.

Old session file. Check out the session here: https://www. Youtube. Com/watch?v=rk40_lg_vws. Went to the local grocery store to do some stealth recording for my library. This time i promised my self to make my cuts more musical, you guys know, good outside (or) inside recording can be esthetic in many ways. When you walk around and listen carefully, you can hear music everywhere. When i got home i began chopping, an then i realized i could turn this mini recording session into some cool loops as well. I think its a good way of practicing sound design(or anything musically), to just limit your self some times. Basically got the idea when i was studying musique concréte. (concrete music). Could upload the samples if some one is interested?. I used no effects at all, no panning (stereo recordings) or no limiters/compressors. Some of the recording where made by using binaural microphones. I recorded everything with my zoom h4.

A late summer soundscape that is a favorite of mine. . Microphones set up in some mature woods about 60 feet from a large lake on labor day weekend. Most of the background is the insects, which are very obvious during this time of year. The swelling of their volume is nap-inducing (*at least to me in my opinion. )here is the midwest this swelling and subsiding of the insect wave tells me that summer is just about starting to go back downhill, after a feverish peak. Despite the covid-19 of the year, nature does not seem to have changed her soundscape. Life goes on in the forests. The birds, whose job of raising young is over, are still there. . . They're just resting and relaxing and listening to the insects as well i'm sure. Now of course you will hear a few prominent birds in this captured moment:(1) a great blue heron squawks out starting at 1:17 into this piece. (2) the alarm call of a red-headed woodpecker can be heard at 2:14. Other than that, just the insects singing their hearts out and the assortment of birds taking secondary place during this time of year. This was recorded on sunday september 6th 2020 at 8:30 in the morning in the forest in southern illinois. Equipment: zoom f4, microphone: sennheiser mkh 8060. Enjoy this audio snapshot of the subdued -- yet vibrant - sound color of late summer, finding comfort in the fact that, within four weeks, the colors of the leaves will be changing to oranges and reds and yellows. But, for now, there is still life to live in the insect and bird world.

A peaceful, drowsy-ish recording of a midwestern usa large field bordered by heavy forest. This was recorded in mid summer, on a very hot day. Temperature was 90 degrees, but, with 45% humidity it was manageable. The good thing about this recording is i was far enough away from humanity's engines to get no cars, no boats, no loud. . . . Anything. Well, except the insect chorus. This is the time of year in illinois that autumn is getting imperceptibly closer. The skies are clearer blue with less humidity. . . A few trees had red leaves. Nature taking a breather. Recorded at 2:30pm on thursday august 26, 2022 using a mixpre 6 recorder. Left channel: rode nt5 cardioid microphone. Right channel: sennheiser mkh 416 microphone.

This sound is completely analog. I recorded the sound of a person who was walking on the street. I chose to leave the noise of the street so that we understand that the person walks outside. I used the effect "amplification" to reduce the noise of the street and increase the sound of step. I made a fade in opening and closing, so that we have the impression that the steps are moving towards us then moves away. At the same time, i played with the pitch of the sound to accentuate this effect.

A recording of a typical busy, yet peaceful later afternoon sound-scape of a small midwestern town at 5:30pm on a weekday. This was recorded on tuesday may 24th, 2016 using the marantz pmd661 and two sennheiser me66 microphones. . . True stereo recording. You will hear the delightful sound of neighborhood kids playing a friendly - or sometimes not so friendly - game of wiffleball which adds to the reflective nature of this recording. The trilling bird calling towards the end of the recording is the beautiful little, rusty-capped chipping sparrow. These chipping sparrows converge on the midwest around this time and their calls can be mistaken as an insect. Enjoy this summer 2016 recording and maybe it will trigger wonderful, innocent memories of your own childhood.

Http://i. Imgur. Com/05avvhf. Jpg. Recorded on the east side of south wabash avenue close to the intersection of wabash and east harrison street, in the south loop area of chicago, on 7/20/2013. The microphones are facing across the street to the el tracks which cross diagonally across the block at this point. The curvature of the tracks causes the squeaking of the wheels. Trains heading into the loop (north) tend to travel more slowly than those heading south. Cars accumulate at the intersection of harrison and wabash to the south (left). Time of recording was 5:41pm. Weather was warm, in the 80s. Recording details: 2 audio technica at4022s in rycote windshields > sound devices 302 mixer > tascam dr-40 recorder.

Boring sound. . . Neuron patch (?). . . Inspired by nlc squid axon (i have saved some hp for that one!) i have patched up a simple 2 stage asr with 2 s/h. Most of the time it plays its atonal melody, but when the patch is stimulated (by a sloth lfo) feedback opens up. I can adjust the sensitivity in different ways (so i can simulate the intake of drugs. . . ). The sound from the oscs goes though vcfs with some resonance. The vcfs are controlled by the same sloth lfo. My neuron patch. . . No hands during recording. My favourite part is when nothing happens - for almost 1 min?! but you can hear the filter working via the vcfs. The cv must be in some strange area.

I believe this to be a weasel, but it could have been a river otter, asthe only part of the animal i saw was the snout down a dark hole. Theanimal was amidst the riprap at the end of our garden, and beingtormented by two neighbourhood dogs. I shooed the dogs away, but theanimal continued to shriek for some time. I have this in wav format if anyone requires it, but i'm sending the mp3 because the original is 26mb long and i'm on dialup. ===fyi - i saw an animal swimming in the river a few days later, and am 98. 5% certain it was a river otter. =====2007-09-07ok. My biologist wife and i have come to the conclusion that it's an american mink (mustela vison). Poor little guy.
